Was sitting in my car at the robot the other day, young black guy came up to the window and asked for change, I had none, I told him so, he told me I was greedy!!

nobody just looks after the interest of people, it's always white people or black people or [insert any group here]. even if the ANC doesn't, it's not right for the VF+ to do it too

So long the ANC does not do it, I don't care if the VF+ only looks afther our people. They atleast open their mouths about issues like this.

"There is no barrier based on skin colour. What needs to happen is, where these communities are squatting... and they have no access to an income stream... they need to apply for RDP houses...," he said.

One wonders if AA EE has not pepetuated the plight of whites and to a certain degree blacks as well?
This countries poor be it black or white are growing in huge numbers and i hope a solution can be found to start creating employment oppertunities to elieviate the problem.

Responding, Motlanthe said government was happy with the rate of success it's equalisation program was heading at. If you can't uplift the blacks, you can downgrade the whites and so reduce the rich-poor/white-black gap. Either way, the gap reduction is what counts. SA still has some way to go as many whites still live in opulent luxury, but their days of economic success are numbered.

"our" people? we're all people that should be helping one another regardless of race and sex. the VF+ is bitching about white squatters and a volkstaat.

Oh please, the ANC is constantly going on about the black peoples plight. How they need to have programs to uplift black entrepreneurs, how they need programs to improve black education, how they need BEE/AA to insure black equality in the work place. Didn't hear you complaining then.

i didn't hear those here either, please link me to such posted thread. maybe i missed it because i'm desnsitised to it now.

i don't listen to the news anymore, it's nothing but crap and one sided bullsh*t so i come here, so forgive me for rebutting one comment i found and disagreed with

It's silly that they only mention the increase in poor whites, and not in blacks as well. If the trend that poor blacks are increasing less (or decreasing) while whites increase oppositely, then they can moan. Otherwise it's a rather useless article. Both should be treated equally.

they should, i can understand why it WOULD be crucial in the beginning but we're long past that stage now. still, preference will be up to a company on who they want to higher regardless of skill

Yes. Usually they would employ the person with the higher skill. Unless she's got big boobs.

culture, sex and race do actually play a huge role in employment however, and people tend to think the person with more qualifications or more experience usually gets the job, but you have to consider what the job is, how much face time you have with people and the environment. all my years at one business despite managers coming and going, i did not see one black manager come in or one black employee get promoted, despite all the regional offices we had. also with secretaries, i never saw once a manager hiring a secretary that wasn't white or afrikaans.

however, 90% of the time the guy doing errands or fetching things from the store is a black guy. couldn't they find a super qualified white guy to do that? it know it varies from business to business, and i can't judge every business, but i feel like many people use this BEE story like it's happening everywhere and affecting everything.

I will run your errands for you, but it's R400 per hour and you pay for the transport. How about it ?

Maybe because they were useless? A true test would be a black owner who wants his business to perform and make money. Does he promote a black face that is useless or a white face that will make him money? Hmmmmm. Tricky. Probably the useless black face because of ‘black solidarity’.

so the black guy can't demand as much? do you see why there are white people in squatter camps? if someone would rather have no source of income rather than what a black guy in that position would earn then they partly deserve it. and why can't the community get together and grow tomatoes or something? i just looked at pictures now and that place looks no different to many dorpies that i've visited, minus the fancy housing
