Whiteheads - quick fix?

27 years and I've never had a single skin issue - no acne, zits, blackheads, whiteheads etc. Not even as a teenager. However over the last 2 weeks or so I've had 4 or 5 whiteheads pop up next to my left eye and need to get rid of these unsightly little annoyances ASAP. Haven't wanted to go digging in my face so bought some Oxy face wash but that has done forkall.

I have until Saturday to get rid of these things so would appreciate any advice from you metrosexuals and the few females on the forum as to how to go about doing this quickly and effectively. Can I sterilize a pin and go digging in my face?

Do you follow a proper daily cleansing regimen? What range of products do you use?

From your posts, I gather you eat fairly rich foods and overindulge as far as alcohol is concerned - these things can also have an effect, when e.g. combined with stress.

Oxy face wash!!!!!!!!!!!!! are you flippin insane dj, the worst possible thing you can do when dealing with pimples is dry your face out.

Steam your face and remove. Depending on the size it should leave red marks for maybe 2 or 3 days but stop using that oxy crap now.

I get quite a few pimples still but since i changed to garnia 3 in 1 face wash i get very few now.

Stay away from chocolates and de-stress as much as possible. Sweating may ripen the whiteheads and even make it larger but it will shorten the life span of it.

Saturday is far enough away, so don't stress.

I wash my face with ordinary soap, moisturise when I shave (my shaver has a built in moisturiser) and use after shave balm as well. That's the extent of my facial wash. I've never had skin issues so have never had the need to buy those hotly-hyped and marketed over-priced facial washes.

I eat really healthily. Once or twice a week I eat really rich foods but overall I'm pretty healthy and eat only fresh food and no take aways - plenty veg. I most certainly over-indulge in booze though...

Never used stuff like that before so just went for the tried and tested. Yeah, it hasn't helped so I aint using it any longer...

What do you mean by "remove"? How so? I'm not just going to dig in with my nails so I figured a sterilised needle/pin might do the trick?

With a needle ( pin is blunt) open a little bit of skin, take a big pen remove the inside and press the small hole over the pimple.( this is the yellow part)
This should "pop" it with out to much damage.....but as a rule do not press them. If you did put some detol or something to disinfect...

Hotly-hyped and over-priced, maybe, but it is a catch 22 : If you do not use them, you will never know if they could have have had the desired results ... and once you realise (like now) that you have a problem, it is a bit too late.

I must say though: this is more the case for women. Men do not care that much about beauty and aging issues.

OK, there is no "yellow part". They're just 4 or 5 white spots - really small. You have to be pretty close to even notice them (although that is planned for Saturday). Will give this a shot though. Surely I should put something on after doing this to clean it though?

I don't really see the catch-22 unless you've fallen for the marketing. They're pretty smart in selling preventative "cures"...:D

It's not necessarily a female issue. I like to think I take decent care of my body, just never had skin issues so never used the products all that much. Call me metrosexual if you like, but a guy's gotta look after himself as well. There is a large difference between well groomed and over the top though...

Well my garnia 3 in 1 facewash costs like 70 bucks, i shower twice a day so i use it obviously twice a day and it lasts about 2 months. 35 rand a month for skin care is not exactly excessive is it :p

Strictly judging by your beauty regimen - or sad lack thereof - you are very far from being a metroman.

It is scary how you think there is no need for a daily cleansing regimen. Beauty products are not for people with problems, it is meant for everyone!

You smoke, you drink - what do you think this does to your skin, combined with sun damage, pollution and stress?
