WHMCS Increases Prices Again

It seems the "cPanel" model is now being applied to the WHMCS from July.

Even the owners of lifetime licence are not being spared.. I guess everyone should have seen seen this coming.
On the bright side the smaller hosts with <500 clients are not being squeezed yet.

Time to consider blesta, much in the same way that we rolled out DirectAdmin and have not looked back

We have seen some issues with DirectAdmin, for example customers who made imap sub folders for mail like inside inbox they made sub folders like tax and inside that 2019 2020 2021 etc, it seems to break at a number of sub folders made, resulting in roundcube showing a blank mailbox. Fix was to move the account to cpanel which seems to index the mailbox better, has happened with a handful of customers. We did escalate this to Direct Admin, no fix provided resolved the issue permanently. Direct Admin is fine for 99% of the customers however. The problem is all the research and development put into whmcs, having to start from scratch on blesta. The same venture capital company who owns cpanel owns whmcs and plesk. And it does look like they keep increasing the prices every year. I think hosting companies should pool resources and develop our own panel, cpanel support is amazing but the license fees increasing every year is really making it hard to keep prices as low as possible.
