been on leave since end August (wrapped up my company) ..... starting afresh next year ;)
 
It's pretty awesome so far. I was a bit skeptical of the whole "avatars" thing, but it turned out to be pretty cool. I'm installing Bioshock to the HDD now to see if there is any improvement to the load times / texture pop-in. 22% installed (after about 30 seconds).

Unfortunately I can't check anything else while it's downloading...
 
Eish, for us poor okes who have no interwebs at home to connect to live, is there an official link to download the new update ? I have searched xbox.com, but the download, she is not there :(

Nope. Fraid not. According to the FAQ the link will follow shortly after the Live release...whatever that means ;)

I find it varies from game to game. GTAIV for example had a noticeable difference when installed, but FarCry 2 didn't seem to load any quicker.
 
Quite liking the avatars thing. Quite surprised to see how many things you can customize. Sims fans eat your hearts out!

Bioshock had a notable improvement in texture pop-in after the HDD installation... I can't wait to see the improvement in Gears texture pop-in! :D
 
Went home, slapped the Xbox on and left it to download. I'll fiddle after work :D
