Who has tried Predros?

Sometimes that is true though and its because of their success. They can't grill them long enough to get that perfect searing because there are another 20 orders waiting and people are getting angry waiting.

If you buy when the restaurant is relatively quiet and in the morning the chicken is good.

I feel bad sometimes for those guys behind the grill. Imagine grilling chicken for 8 hours.

I have never had Pedros, will try soon.

Whats sprinkle chicken?

How is a Dom Pedro burger different to a Cheese Burger?

Just had the BEST "takeaway" chickem. R90 at spar for a full BBQ chicken fresh out of the oven + Minnies hot sauce (choose your flavour), chuck the whole bottle over it. Microwave for a minute or two to heat the sauce.

Some fresh Portuguese rolls and butter.

Flippen amazing!!

Sprinkle is a powder spice coating, while their normal is the wet “sauce” basting. Sauce is way nicer, trust me.

I highly recommend the full Pedros chicken “cut in ten” pieces with garlic rolls in the “Mild” sauce, complete with sides of either chicken livers or giblets in more mild sauce. It is the best takeaway chicken experience in SA. They also do a really tasty yellow rice if you want to have that instead of chips.

I've wondered about the sprinkled chicken. Isn't most of these fastfoods chicken flavour and juiciness in the added sauce? Is the sprinkled one not a bit dry ?

The one time I tried it, I found it a bit lacking in flavour, the dry sprinkle absorbed moisture from the chicken so that wasn’t bad. Much better to just go with the sauce, however.

Actually, I loved the extra hot basting but once I tried the extra hot sprinkle it my favourite. It's not dry at all. I bought their extra hot sauce and get the sprinkle then have best of both. IF you don't want that you can also do half n half. Half sprinkle half basting.

Wish we had a pedros here in the midlands. My experience from the Richards Bay one wasnt great, but some of these pictures makes me want to try again. Our local Nados is super overpriced and terrible.

So far I only had 1 bad experience and it taste like the chicken was boiled barely grilled. They do just like Nando. Oven roast first to get the centre to temp for faster grilling and food safety so the chicken is technically already cooked when they take it out of those ovens. If they skimp on the grill it tastes like boiled chicken,

I usually say well done when ordering so they have to leave it on the grill longer. Works every time. For me personally I prefer Pedros over Nandos. Barchelos used to be nice but the last time I bought there it didn't have any flavour. Steers do a better grilled flattie than Barcelos.

With franchises quality can differ vastly between locations. My local joint has been superb with everything so far but every time I try one of their slaw wraps it gives me a case of the jippos. Maybe all that cabbage, chicken, mayo and spice is prone to that, but damn, does it still taste good.
