This morning I saw an article about this Pedro's Advert:


Which got me curious about them, I checked the pricing on their website and everything is really cheap.

Who here has tried their menu out, and what is your verdict on their food?

Nandos quality deteriorating?

My usual order from them since I can remember has been the half chicken meal extra hot. However after my last three purchases I've now stopped going there, not only is the chicken rather bland these days, the prices are crazy and the portions smaller. This is specifically the Long Street...

Food is passable, a step down from Nandos but wins on price. It annoys me a little how blatantly they are ripping off Nandos, right down to the shape of the sauce bottles and the bottle holders.

That should be a good thing? Nandos price has spiralled. Pedros is a relative bargain.

Another affordable and quality option is Chicking. At least this one has a unique flavour of it's own that doesn't resemble another brand...

Food-wise, it's a good thing. But I'd prefer if they had their own identity/ambience instead of just trying to clone Nandos.
 
I quite enjoy it. Nandos hasn’t seen me in a while due to their ridiculous pricing. Pedros costs what nandos used to cost 8 years ago.

Yeah, first time I tried it I thought it was a ripoff of Nandos, and the taste was rather bland and boring (when you are used to Nandos).

Never felt the urge to buy from them again

Our office has been buying for some of the "company sponsored" staff lunch days. Its currently being chosen over anything else - i even tried swinging us to Andiccio24 Pizzas but nope. All want Pedros...
 
The only issue I have with them is the size of their chicken pieces. Really small. You will need to order a half a chicken to get a decent meal.

Because I demand a lot of my chicken places. I want to know what drives them and why they got into the chicken business. And I can't do that if they're pretending to be someone else.

It looks like a KZN based company, there's like 57 KZN branches but there's none in any of the places I frequent, the closest one to me is in a place I only ever go to if absolutely necessary.
