I've got a MSI GT70, on boot it goes to blue screen with a cursor. On removing the nVidia card, the machine boots to Windows but the fan stays on full speed. Can you give me some advice on where to start looking for the problem?

I don't think he's technical support...more like a sales agent -I speak under correction, though.
Best would be to PM him ;)
 
Thanks Sl8er, I PM'd him but no response. Anyone here know where I could have the card tested (Western Cape/Cape Town)?
 
When did you buy the laptop?

MSI website has a ticket system if you register the laptop.
 
It belongs to a colleague - from what I understand it's out of warranty, but I'll double-check.
 
Good luck I just had to deal with partserve, they are the WORST most USELESS idiots on this planet.

Laptop went in for hinge replacements, I wont ever buy MSI again, what a piece of **** quality. Anyways, after 4 farken weeks i force them to give it back, they tell me oh the wifi antenna is broken. So basically they broke it when they took the screen apart to replace the hinges. I get my laptop back yesterday only to find out they damaged my LCD.

You will have to take it partserve, they will probably make it worse lol

When i was there they were trying to shaft another user for some asus yoga laptop thing. Broken charge port. They say 150R for the port oh and the board was dead, but it wasnt and after even more investigation they were charging him 15k for a 15inch board for his 13" laptop lol.

In hind sight, id rather buy a new laptop than ever use those fk heads again.

Is there a trick to getting into the BIOS on this thing - we've tried F2 or Del, no luck. I believe the BIOS on these is custom/locked, but I'd like to have a look to try and rule a BIOS issue out.

Delete is the key. They're not locked.

No worries, thanks Cerebus. I'm trying to avoid sending the machine to Partserve: these are not the first horror stories I've heard about them.
