MY father works with this rubbish and their support sucks - guy said the upgrade does not work on Windoze 7 Home edition - I find that ludicrous.

When he tries to uninstall a previous version, he gets this error about windows installer. "windows installer service could not be accessed"
Service is enabled and running so not that.
There are no extra msiexec.exe rogues to be found anywhere
It won't allow me to change RPC service at all.

Any ideas?

Used to Use it, it is actually the best and most cost affective Payroll out there
Try call a company called End to End.
See if they will help you over the phone, you can only try.

Sounds like an admin account problem or the MSI is bad

Use the original install media setup from the DVD/CD to remove it

Try re-install from original dvd and then after a reboot try a remove.

What version are you upgrading from and version you going too. Sound strange to me that it would not work on windows 7 home.
I did the upgrade from ver 9 to 11 here at the work but run on windows 2003 server and TS servers.
Just remember you will need to convert your data to new version. PM if you need help.

Are you trying to upgrade to newer build or are you upgrading to a newer product, if so you can keep the old version installed.

The System Requirements say Windows 7 so I'd imagine it applies to all of them. Try right click on the setup and say Run as Administrator
