Who owns Telkom

The article is misleading- it says which countries own the various stakes, not WHOM own the various stakes...
It is quite obvious the largest stake is the cANCer government
 
1 million adsl subscribers and 1 billion fixed line data revenue. 1000 per line?

The article quite clearly states who the biggest shareholders are, and specifically mentions the National Government...
 
Telkom’s majority shareholder is the South African government, which owns 39.76% of the company as of 30 September 2014. The second-largest shareholder is the PIC, with 11.63%.

PIC is also a ststeheld entity ... so government controls 51% effectively.

Technically yes. The PIC however is a quasi-public company. The control government has over it is different to the control is has over an SOE

It doesn't really matter. What's in PIC's interest is in government's interest and government will make decisions that are in its own interest.

That surprised me. I would have thought that international investors would shun ownership of SA telecoms industry, given potential State interference or shareholding in so many key industries in SA
