Every Wednesday and every Saturday and sometimes on a Sunday.

SO also plays golf so our holiday destinations and overnight stays are are golf biased.
From many years ago I keep a card of every course that I've played.

From Bredasdorp in the South to Elephant Hills in the North.. From Oranjemund to Durban
The last count: 230!!!!!

Golf is not a matter of life or death...It is more important than that.

Only started learning to play golf about 2 1/2years ago. Have only been playing mashies though. Still to scared to try a proper golf course. Looks too intimidating.

still don't understand the joy in hitting some ball with a stick wearing some hideous shoes. Awesome sports are the ones where you cant even think about something else while playing them. Football, basketball and Rugby are good examples. But some people like cauliflower and broccoli so what do i know

Fortunately people who play golf don't need your approval or even understanding.

Because a bad day on the golf course is still better than a good day at the office.

Safe your first game for when you're in a small town. You can play with jeans and tekkies and no-one look at you funny or chase you away. Also R50 specials for 18 holes etc on some days. I play regularly because it's cheap.

Does Kleinmond qualify as a small town, then i will have to play at the Arabella. :D
We were thinking at playing our first game at Parow golf club though unless someone can recommend an easier 18 hole course.

I try to play 2 a month. Arabella was the best course i gav every played. I recommend it! ( bit it comes with a price)(R15 for small choclate ens ens.)

Your contribution exposes all the ignorance of the tradition and etiquette of the game of golf.
Golf Clubs and the game has a format and a culture that has evolved over centuries.
You don't belong!!!!!!!!!!

Get off the bus and play soccer.
Rout with the louts in your jeans and tĂŞkkies.

FAO cpu.

I only go to the range and send the ball flying over 200m.I have no intention walking after the ball and hitting it again. :D

So you don't play golf.
You are not a member of a golf club.

Care to add value?

NOT....NOT...NOT...

Is it wrong to assume that all golf players are snobs?

I always think people get into golf to show some social status.

No its not, just look at Strollers posts in this thread and it answers your questions.

@Magandroid - Go play that first game asap, but ideally on a weekday. Mondays are normally quiet(er) and you will run less of a risk holding up the 4ball(s) behind you :) Be warned, you'll be hooked for life...
