Saw somewhere about this Gcam google camera app. My camera take ok pic's. Wonder if this one is better

Cameras are invariably more capable than the person taking the photo.

I use it on my Oneplus 7Pro. Decent enough upgrade over native app but can be quite buggy depending on version and handset it's being loaded onto...

Necro.

It is nearly impossible to get a Gcam port to work on my Samsung A52s. Got The Gcam Go version to work though. Here are comparisons for night mode.

Which one do you guys think is better? Gcam a lot brighter...but looks a bit faded with more noise I would say.
Gcam is Better than most stock if not all.

But Gcam has issues with Exynos devices probably why it never took of in SA.

Based on your image I would say you need to generate a noise model for your sensor

My Samsung has a Snapdragon inside though. Gcam still does not work. App installs bit it freezes 3 seconds into using the app. Gcam Go app works though.

GCam on a pocophone F1 makes the photos look as if they were taken with an infinitely better camera compared to the ones taken with the stock camera app - so i have always been a GCam fan

Second that. I have a Redmi

Hmmm the Samsung open camera app I can see the stars( southern cross? )
On gcam you see more detail in the fence. So the question is what are we comparing?

OK final test with all options I can think of. Downloaded latest version of Gcam Go Mod I could find.

What I find interesting is the last two. Samsung camera with flash has more detail and not quite as bright as Gcam with flash...but when zooming in looks like lots of processing and sharpening happening. Gcam with flash much lower noise...but also a lot softer with less detail when zooming in.

Ok. Finally found a full on Gcam mod that works on my phone with night sight. It is a older build though. Here are the comparisons. Loadshedding now here so no artificial light from the windows.

It really is a mixed bag. Each app performs better than the other in different scenarios it seems. I like how the pool looks with Gcam...but with Samsung camera I like how the house looks. I guess keep both apps and take pic with both apps and then decide which l like more and keep that one lol.
