Hay guys,

So I been using Spotify as my main streaming app for music. I used to use Soundcloud, but I love the variety of content on Spotify, example like all the moods and genres. Even though I don't have a Premium account, the free account is more than useable. I also have it on my laptop as well. Really impressed with Spotify!

Share your thought too, if you are also using Spotify.
:)

Yep. Spotify user. A happy one at that on a premium account. Can't really fault it on anything , except maybe that not every single song is available. 99,5% is but there is sometimes a version of a song you hear that's not available.

Premium nice! I see, but I even got some Afrikaans titles (full album), which Soundcloud don't even had. Examples: Karen Zoid and Die Hewers Fantasties. How much is premium?

I've been on premium for about 2 years now. Really enjoying it.

It's about R55 / month these days. Got a Turkish subscription from when I lived there.

Yep. Quite a few South African tunes. Also Afrikaans. All of whack head albums too ;).

It's just convenient and for the price it's worth it to me. Got it at home , car , iPad etc so wherever you are , either play playlists or search. Plus you can do offline playlists so don't always need 3G data.

Sad that you can't use your RSA credit card. I have to always buy $10 spotify cards, and it's not all that cheap anymore :(

But yes, I also use them and have not downloaded any mp3's for more than a year now.

Turkish, cool man! R55 is more than acceptable and affordable for what you get! Whack Head, ah a classic. I agree, same here.

Really? That is bad... :(

Yup, you have to also "cheat" with dns settings to allow you to use it.

Eish. I am aware of that. On my laptop I just use TunnelBear to change my location. On my iPhone, I used a US account to download it and just sign in with my details from my laptop. And there I go, sorted.

I also use Tunnelbear every 15 days or so when Spotify complains, works like a charm.

I don't know if it because I've been using it for months now, but the ads are become more and more frequent these days for me. But at nearly R200 a month ( for overseas gift card + profit + crap rand/dollar rate ), it's getting a bit expensive ...

Not sure if this relates , but I am using my account without changing location.

On netflix or sky tv I need to do that but on spotify no need. Whether using pc or mobile.

Me too. Yeah, R200 is a bit expensive. Also started getting ads, but it went away haha. Ads is not so annoying to me, I image that I am listening to the radio. Radio also has ads.

I've never understood the point of South Africans having Spotify accounts. You have to access via DNS and the US subscription is expensive at $9.99pm, whereas we have perfectly legal and cheaper alternatives with Deezer, Google Play Music, Apple Music and Simfy.

I am pretty happy with the free account of Spotify, no complains. I agree with you that it is expensive. Apple Music? Don't like the buy a song part.

I tried out Deezer, prefer Spotify. My friend was also at Deezer (premium account) and switched over to Spotify (premium).

You should both also give Google Play Music a go then. Very good service, and excellent integration with individually purchased albums and uploaded personal music collections.

But you don't buy per-song with Apple Music. It's a streaming service just like Deezer and Spotify.
