Who Uses Spotify? - I do!

You should both also give Google Play Music a go then. Very good service, and excellent integration with individually purchased albums and uploaded personal music collections.

But you don't buy per-song with Apple Music. It's a streaming service just like Deezer and Spotify.

I will give my friend a shout for Google Play Music, but I don't want to buy a subscription at the moment. I am aware of that, but meh. :p

You get a free Simfy subscription if you have Afrihost Plus for R99pm. Capped users on Afrihost mostly all get it because one of the perks is that it doubles your cap.

What are the limitations on the free Spotify accounts?

That is pretty cool of them. Unfortunately I am with Vox Telecom and very impressed with my service, as well as the price I pay each month. You can't skip unlimited like Deezer, but I really don't notice it, I play a playlist and I can skip on every song in that playlist. Ads, sometimes, I got it like once, but it blends in nicely. Cannot listen offline, not a deal breaker for me, got music on my phone which I can listen to if I leave the house.

EDIT: @Bryn, your line makes me jealous.

I meant with Spotify. My mom tried Deezer's free service for a while and gave up. In addition to the limitations you mentioned, you can't freakin' play any particular track.

That is the limitations of Spotify lol. :D
That is why I left Deezer, you will have to get premium.

Spotify has the best playlists, I've tried the others but Spotify has a playlist for everything!

Yeah I use it. Premium account that I share with someone in Canada. Can't live without it. Haven't used any other services though so can't compare.

Spotify is the greatest, but recently cancelled and started using Google play to save some bucks (R50 p/m vs $10 p/m).

Trying out Spotify to see how it compares to our services, but the payment portal won't load when using my VPN so I can't activate the 30 day Premium trial.

How do you guys pay?

I would have maintained my Play Music sub past the free trial, but I had issues creating playlists in Firefox and I found that all the music was equalised for bass response to the point that some genres sounded pretty bad (although electronic music sounded amazing). Very disappointing, because the interface is great, the price was the best around, the Play Store music prices are also great and Google integrates all your music better than anyone.

That is sad... Because I don't like if there is too much bass, I like bass haha, but I like clear bass more.

I'm a bit of a bass head, but many tracks were borderline unlistenable. The equalising has a huge impact. I didn't see an option anywhere to flatten the music.

I love heavy bass songs, for those songs I use my Apple Earbuds, otherwise I use my Sennheiser HD 439 all the way.

EDIT: Prefer my Sennhies, way more comfortable to wear!

:erm: The Apple earbuds are terrible in all respects though?

I use Sony XB-100 headphones when I need bass. They hit pretty hard when used with a decent DAC. The SB stands for Xtra Bass. :p

They was not too bad for me personally, but after receiving my Sennheiser headset, I won't go back.
Haha Sony makes nice headsets if you are a "bass head". :p
Hopefully getting a sound card shorty (Creative Sound Blaster Z with Audio Module Controller + Mic).

Google music sub @ 50.

Kinda surprised it let me keep that price since technically its a SA only thing.

Bit annoyed though...frequently get "music playback services unavailable"

So it's officially in SA now? No more jumping through hoops?

Otherwise still the same problem it's always been. I'll rather just pay for those that do officially support us that go out of my way to use someone that doesn't.

Tried to sign up for it as soon as I got here, but my Google account still had an SA address somewhere - took me ages to find it and change it to a UK one. Happily on premium for £9.99/mth which gets added to my mobile bill. Weird thing is, for all the cool and obscure bands on there, you'd think they'd have Tool...
