Whole Cell-C network down?

My signal was very flaky all afternoon in Somerset West and Stellenbosch - my phone kept losing network coverage and resetting randomly. For a while, when I tried to make voice calls, I only got an automated female voice saying "No" and was then disconnected.

I was in Stellenbosch also at that time. Maybe that’s why my friend’s phone was so 'unusually' silent. Strange.

I was told in the past, that a phone resetting the whole time has nothing to do with the network. I didn’t believe it of course because all resets would occur when there was some kind of network trouble. Your experience seems to agree with this view.

I reckon Cell C randomly selected cell-numbers and blocked their network access in order to decrease traffic while they worked on some problem. How else could some numbers work and not others? Hopefully they release a press statement/appology.

Wouldn't surprise me with Cell C.

Well, my phone needs to be reset quite often (i-mate JAM: gee I wonder whether that has to do with its operating system being coded by Microsoft ), but it never has reset itself before and hasn't done it again since the network trouble.

Network Issues

Sorry guys. We do appoligise for the network issues.

The problem was country wide, and it looks like it is now sorted out.

If you have any other problems please let me know;)
