Well at least white people became democratic and semi-civilised instantaneously. There was never any inter-or intra-country fighting. One group never took power by force or tried to exterminate another group. No leader ever stole vast sums of money. No-one ever gave jobs or contracts to friends and family.
They did and killed off the entire local population in the Western Cape.Jan Van Riebeeck & then later Piet Retief should've brought some smallpox blankets with them.

But bco Europe has picked it self up. I mean do you ever think most of africa will pick itself up with there warlords. I mean I see no reason for them to keep on killing each other and just say enough is enough, far enough they don't have money like europe but atleast try but no they will not. As the saying goes an Africa solution to an Africa problem.
Who knows how Africa's history will pan out in 50 or 200 or 1000 years' time? Europe had a very violent and corrupt past for many many centuries. It's very easy to forget that.

I know that but bco,it just there attitude, lets blame the whites for this lets blame the other tribes and so on. I mean look at germany now. They were bombed to hell split up between the west and the east and they got back up to a decent country. But time will only tell what will happen to africa.
Not while the West continues to support them warlords with weaponry and finance. How many major arms manufacturers are african?
Bokassa? Supported, financed and armed by France and the United States,.
Idi Amin? Supported and financed and armed by Israel, Britain, Russia and Libya.
etc etc etc
You cant deny that Europe has had a lot of progress in the last few hundred years, and a lot of stability despite some major wars. African dictatorships and one party states, such as South Africa at present, may have a lot in common with European monarchies, except that progress occurred even with those monarchies, and things were relatively stable.
It took some brutal wars for Europe to sort its s**t out. What's happened in Africa is nothing compared to what happened at the Somme, Verdun, Stalingrad, Dresden, the Nazi death camps, Coventry etc., and thats relatively recent. You really do not want to follow Europe's example of progress.

Dude have you seen Africa? what war are you talking about in Africa? what countries are attacking who? Did stalin hitler etc destroy their own countries? No they fought wars. I could live with africa being a mess due to major conflicts but dude how can you compare African leaders stealing and destroying to WW's?
It is fairly obvious African leaders destroy and take as much as possible and do not think about tomorrow. It is a trend and i am sure there is a comp as to which leader can F up a country more.
I love how people defend Africa's leaders. Always some excuse. O this happened in 1812 that is why, the white man did this or that, the west is giving them guns. Greedy and being brain dead will lead to destruction.

imo africa's issue is pride:
too proud to confront failure and inpetitude;
not proud enough to believe we're capable of greatness without a first-world handout.

And you forget all the genocide that is still happening in Africa. The nazis had Ideals after they got rid of all the weaker races,and the soviets were about the worker(well in theory anyway. Africans kill for the sake of killing. They get ride of one war lord to be replaced by another. Africa has no hope coming right. And I will stand by my words.

LOL, those that think their Europe and America are so great and civilized. "No the Europeans and Americans are are not Warmongers" you say. Is that so? Okay then, how many wars have America been involved in in the last 50 years? War is not just an African phenomenon people, remember, USA and Briton are fighting wars in Afghanistan and Iraq as you type these words now. Remember that other shining example of "civilized" warfare where the Americans would just napalm villages because there was suspected VC there.
Africa is a crap place alright, and America and Europe are richer countries that can do more for their citizens, but please don't make out that these places are innocent of genocide either, remember the holocaust? We, as Europeans are always quick to point fingers and say look at that African leader and what he does to his people, we forget that only 20 years ago we as a race where suppressing and discriminating and even killing in the name of Apartheid. As for corruption, don't think that the Apartheid government wasn't corrupt. They only needed to keep a very small part of the citizenry happy so we didn't know how much money was being "mislaid".
I am not making excuses for anyone, all I'm saying is that we should stop looking at America and Europe as these shinning examples, they aren't. As a nation we should rather look to our selves. How can we do something to brake the cycle? What more can we do to change our narrow perceptions of others? I have to believe that as a nation, irrespective of race or religion or culture can do a lot to bring the changes that we need to go forward. Nelson Mandela began laying the framework, a pity that he did not come to power before his age began to work against him. Yes, his administration was imperfect, it was riddled with bad economics, heavy crime and the stupidity that is the rest of the ANC. But his compassion for all South Africans, in my book is what is missing now. Unfortunately all this is undone now by the fools that have been put in power. Lets hope that the citizens can finally see that ANC is failing and look for a better alternative.
