All races are interlinked and therefore the notion of a separate race is a human construct, just like religion. No one is pure and free of the other. So...why do we even continue to see ourselves in terms of Black, White, Coloured, Indian, Chinese, etc?

So do religions...totally different in their practices but yet they worship the same god.

Race is hardly the only kind of visual discrimination. Fat people, short people, disabled people, ugly people to name a few... they all get discriminated against because those attributes are immediately visually apparent.

It's used a measure of human value and of social standing, which is enough reason to abolish differentiation of people based on appearance.
But fat people, short people, ugly people are not a distinct group. They are just humans like thin people, tall people, beautiful people. When they hang out together you can see who is fat and who is thin but they still hang out with one another without any discrimination. Why is it not the same with so called race classification?

I do not agree. Have you been fat and ugly? People are not friends, do not hire and make fun of fat and ugly people. These days it’s even easier to do. Check a persons facebook. She is hot hire her.
Fat people tend to be in the same groups. Fat people do not like hanging with skinny people it makes you aware that you are fat.
Pretty people like to be in groups with other pretty people. They are not friends with the ugly once.
Clever people do not hang with idiots. Humans like to hang in groups of people that are like them look like them talk like them.
IT has been proven that people marry people that looks like them. We even have dogs that looks like you

People of different races do hangout aswell. Visual discrimination is only the initial judgement. That is, if your initial judgement is proven inaccurate, perhaps because you have a conversation with the person, then you will re-evaluate the judgement. It is no longer just visual, so a fat person might be incredibly intelligent and funny, those are attributes that cannot be ignored, they will increase the value of that person in your perception. Even to the point where the fat person is the leader.

Why you never hear that the DA needs a fat leader as their face in order to attract fat votes but you will definitely hear calls for a black face to attract black votes. It's all very superficial and should be treated as such. No so?

Sure, it is superficial. Most humans have loyalties that transcend race though. You won't find a bunch of white religious fundamentalists siding with a liberal white guy who proposes equal rights for homosexuals when there is a religious conservative black guy saying the opposite. They will side with the black guy. Their loyalty towards heterosexuality transcends their loyalty towards race in that example.
