If an OS did suck (which Android does not), it would be because it was buggy, full of lag, drained the battery too quickly, etc. real issues. These are petty ones. Nobody has to use an OS that sucks, there are alternatives after all.

Oh the "series" is far from over, hence the (Part 2), so still space for those points to come up in future article links. :)

I am just highlighting negative views, as default, Android users think the OS is perfect, same goes for iOS and Windows Phone.

Excellent! Thanks for this.
I'll be looking forward to your 10 part threads for both "Why Windows Phone sucs" and "Why IOS sucs". This way I'll be able to make an informed decision when the time comes.

Actually I disagree with this.

This is how problems get sorted, by 1st acknowledging that they exist and 2nd getting it to the people that can do something about it's attention.

Sorry I should have elaborated more. Bitching about it here or some other forum won't fix it but if you actually direct your issues to the developers you might get results.

To be fair iOS users do acknowledge its limitations. Android users on the other hand...

Not really, iOS users just say it wasn't included because it isn't needed :)

Android still has some work to do but if you look at the improvements made with ICS and JB the future looks very good.

Android is open source, which means that theoretically it's only limitations are your knowledge/skill to program it :p

Its only open source as in show. Sure you can make changes to the code for yourself but its not really open as in post back up the tree. ie: True Open Source, I would rather call Android Free Source as to Open.

Ask Amazon and Aliyun how open Google is to things they do not approve of.

The back button actually works in very logical way. Once you know how it works it's not nearly as confusing.

The only other issue that I from the OP is Google Play Store not remembering my scroll position. Apart from that the other things are non-issues or not relevant (i.e we don't have access to Google Music).

Yea I think these complaints are all from users who cannot cope with more than one button :p

"aaaaahhhhhhhhh :O a back button!!! WTF does that do??"

Great article. Thread title and limited info in the OP don't do it justice and you must read the original article.

After reading this I agree with every one of those points, some of them you would have thought should have been fixed ages ago.

The icon size thing bugs the bejeezus out of me, that's why I never use the stock theme. I hope the Android devs take a good read on this one.

Yeah sorry, not my fault way to long to post (MyBB post limit) and even then without the pictures not worth it, that is why I said Interesting read.

yeah the low res contact pics need to be sorted, as well as the play store issues, other issues aren't too big, at least not for me. But they really should set a standard size for all icons, and maps app needs a UI overhaul I think

The People app now retrieves high res photos automatically for Google contacts with public Google+ profiles and displays higher res photos (720x720) on certain devices.
High res photos set on Google accounts will be backed up and synced across devices.

Agreed on the play store thing though.
