Why buy a 22" wide LCD?

Mmmm, so the 20" wide is as high as my 17"... Are you sure, coz that aint kewl...

according 2 me: The vertical pixels would be the same between the 17 and 20 wide, but just adding vertical pixels with the 20 wide....

Price just below R2k from Tarsus (A friend can get it at cost price & excl, for me and him :-)


We would have gotten the 22" but checked on a friends Asus 22" and the streching doesn't look kewl. I'm getting it for gaming and not for movies.

It only stretches if the game doesn't support wide screens, else it won't have that stretching effect.
 
1680 x 1050 on a 20" will look better than 1680 x 2050 on a 22". (That is max res on both models)

If you think about it, the same amount of pixels on a wider area must cause some sort of duplicating or stretching of pixels.
I'm not technical bout this, just thinking logically. Maby someone has the correct term for this. (Isn't it dot-pitch?)

Ja, the diff in dot-pitch between the two is from .282 to .258

and we're not gonna use it to watch from far away, but we sit close to the screen (In relative terms).

I just want the best size for gaming and I'm spending a lot of $$$ so it should be worth it.
 
Hey, I have 2 Samsung 22" 226BW's.... running at 1680x1050..... 2ms g2g..... and 3000 to 1 dynamic contrast ratio..... connected to one pc, it aint half bad..... :p



....although.... there is one screen you always will use more..... and thats your primary..... lol

What about that black space in the middle? Dam, I could never play FPS games like that! :eek:

I played BF2 on a 22" wide and definitely was NOT impressed AT ALL! I guess because it doesnt support it
