Why Computicket tickets must be collected from Checkers

TL;DR:
- Reader who bought tickets pissed off waiting 30 minutes in line to collect tickets after not seeing a print from home option

- event organizers are responsible for telling Checkers/Computicket whether they want to allow print from home option or collection only

- Other factors playing a role in this decision relates to size of event, security etc and risk of selling fake tickets, where print from home tickets are easier to fake than tickets collected from Checkers

And this;

This includes printing multiples or making copies of the original printed ticket, it said.

Why Computicket tickets must be collected from Checkers

A MyBroadband reader recently purchased tickets for the Cannabis Expo in Pretoria, with the aim of learning more about the "kine bud".

The ticket vendor for the show was Computicket, and the reader bought two tickets through their website.

The MYBB reader sounds like a real first world problems type of guy.

I've never waited at a money market queues more then like 10 minutes, just Dont go on the Lotto days and when pensioners collect pension ( not sure if that still happens) back when computicket had their own kiosks it was worse you would have 1 guy servicing and he can disappear at any time. Was a mission.
Plus so many checkers are open till like 7pm can go anytime.
Of course in this day and age that self print option should not be easy to copy, each transaction should create an individual QR code or bar code hell even a reference number so it cant be copied.

I think they are wanting to avoid the sale of fake tickets and not having to turn people away at the venue door when whatever mechanism, QR code ref number etc, doesn't match with their systems..

That moegoe could've better spent his 300 bucks by buying his weed with it instead.
If he never had that filthy, unhealthy habit, he could've saved himself time, money and frustration. I guess he figures that he has too many active brain cells and that some need culling. To me, it sounds like that he's killed too many already.

Computicket is not what it used to be... It is often just easier to buy your tickets directly at the venue instead of jumping through all those hoops. I also had a similar experience with Computicket where I figured it would be easier to buy and print the tickets online for a venue at the Coca Cola Dome two years ago.

When I arrived at there, I was told that I could not use the entrance all the other people where using, as it was reserved for those that still need to buy tickets! I was told to use the entrance at the opposite side of the Dome and to get there, I had to walk out of the grounds and all around the Dome using the streets as the path around the dome was blocked for security reasons and no one was allowed to walk through there! I asked if a some one from security could not just help me get through, but that could not be done as no one was available...

I then just bought another ticket as walking around the Dome was not what I had in mind! I now buy my tickets directly from the venue or via the venue website. Juts easier with a lot less hassles! I try to avoid online ticket re-sellers wherever possible.

It is computicket that is crumbling, not Checkers. Never had a poor experience at Checkers, but computicket's systems are totally outdated and useless. If ever there was a need for a disruptor, it is in this space.

Shoprite own Computicket so same thing...

The problem is not the code but the verification of the code at a venue. It will require technology, internet access if not vpn at the venue. Computicket also probably charge extra for the API to verify too and all that is needed for the print at home. Computicket stub fraud is probably low enough of a risk for most event holders. Probably cheaper than other.

To me it sounds like he was trippin' the whole time.

Computicket is Shoprite who are doing phenomenally well, so not true.

Airlines get it right and there is no excuse. Computicket lacked a good customer journey for many years and other players will continue growing while we wait for this to addressed.
