I'm not white/black so I don't know hey. :)

Anyway, I think he was just a troublemaker. He knew this thread would rack up a lot of replies very quickly so he posted it and now he leaves it with the good ol' "racist" insult.

I have to apologise.
I always assumed you were a White liberal.
 
well if i may a point to this, AA does make the market difficult to get a job - i managed to get in per knowing a managing director on the inside, which is not my favorite method as not outright you have won/made the interview.

Sigh, but i have learn to live with that as it seems is now the only way if you are going to get some food on the table and i have done my fair share if **** jobs even had a go at ADT door to door at a time just to have some money for living costs. At least i am good enough off now for the moment...

...but doing a few interviews myself the candidates to screen are mostly young and arrogant wanting R250 per hour knowing jack **** about the actual internal workings of the job they apply for - just sense of i want to do nothing and i know nothing but you have to employ me just because. It simple method to follow if you know nothing its the door if you know you stuff you get a "trail" period to proof you are worth your salary and don't just sit there pretending to do something.

I have a BIG problem with the assumption that the workplace should reflect national demographics. Give me one good reason why this should be the case?

If there are 50 possible options for an employer to pick from why should he pick from the bottom of the barrel simply because there's some stupid law that says he must have a demographically representative workforce? Why can't he pick the best people for the job?

There's not a shred of rational thinking in that quoted statement. What it does do, however, is open up the age old question of why the majority of black people do poorly at school and on IQ tests compared to Caucasian and Oriental people.

The answers to that question you'll find in the field of genetics and not in the field of history.

What I am noticing in this country is that the gloves are coming off when it comes to talk about race. And that is a good thing because the time for being PC is over.

The black race needs to account for its own failures and stop pointing the finger at oppression or past injustices.

Main issues is forget about colour and choose via merit...end of story. Another 10 years and we'll be ok
