Why do we judge Oscar?

Too many people care too much
Getting tired of being bombarded with Oscar stuff.

Oscar is hanging up his blades and participating in a different sport at the next Paralympic games.

So my question is this - why the disparity in reaction ?
Is it because Oscar is famous & successful & Reeva was a pretty white girl with a promising future.
Or because Anene was a poor unknown colored girl & her boyfriend equally unknown ?

Amongst people that I know there was even more outrage WRT the Anene case than the OP case.

This disparity in reaction is not as big as you would like to believe.

Most of the worlds sportspeople don't regularly make the news for getting into altercations, feuds, arguments to the extent that Oscar has. They also don't generally cry "cheat" literally seconds after suffering dissapointments like your beloved Oscar did in the last Paralympics. I can respect his achievements and not begrudge him for reaping the rewards thereof and still think he's a world class prick.

He is not my "beloved Oscar''. I do not place much value in sports, television or music personalities because there achievements have no bearing on my existence. My issue with that statement was that Oscar was being targeted for pretty much how every other famous person carries themselves and for what I felt was a degree of discrimination when he was attacked for reaping financial rewards from his athletic prowess.

And regularly make the news? This whole debacle is the first time I have become aware of the fact that he could be a heated individual. But again, show me a high-level athlete that is not competitive with confidence bordering arrogance. They are few and far between.

If another sportsman accidentally discharges a firearm in public... then I say they're too negligent to own a firearm too.
If another sportsman threatens other people repeatedly with violence... then I'd say they have a violent streak too.
If another sportsman has as many brushes with the law WRT assault etc... Then I'd say they have violent tendencies too.
If another sportsman lays a finger inappropriately on a member of the opposite sex... I'd call them a scumbag too.
If another sportsman shoots through a closed door four times into a second story toilet with the only access being a 600x600mm window without a warning... then I'd call them a murderer too.
If another sportsman murders his girlfriend... I'd call them a murderer too
If another sportsman murders his girlfriend in a fit of rage and then tries to cover it up... I'd call that person a murderer who never had any REAL principles or guts to begin with.

EVEN if it was a burglar, it would be murder

Cool. But don't call him out for his arrogance when every second athlete struts around like he owns the place. Don't criticise his financial gains when every other iconic athlete is allowed to sign multi-million dollar sponsorship agreements and have their faces plastered all over.

I'm not one to beat the bush ok so will just say it. Do you think perhaps so many people are targetting him because we're so used to murderers and rapists walking free? Could this be why we have judged him already lock and key? Just trying to draw a parallel between the frustration we have with rife crime and gunning for this guy even before his trial began we sentenced him. Maybe there are other factors which cause South Africans to shoot first ask questions later. Anyway why not thread is why not. Your thoughts?
