Why do women like men.

I like them for their smell and the dangly bits that i do not have.:o

And i have always liked the nice guys. So what if we like bad boys you like cheerleader type girls.....
If guys get kicked in the teeth by the cheerleader their problem, you guys like to make it the girls fault...you guys are the visual stimulated ones so you want the sexy girl.
Go cry around the corner please. Maybe the cheerleader will give you a sympathy shag...:D

Well-said!

Seriously you are suppose to be men..grow a pair of balls already. Booo hoooo she doesn't like me...booo hooo she's sooooooo mean.....booo hoooo she likes brad instead of me! *gag*

Preach Sister M!

I'll admit I've been the cheerleader type with platonic guy friends, but I was never a user. Later I find out xyz liked me, but years or months later. How is that my fault? I always assume that if a guy likes me enough he'd risk rejection to let me know. I'm like that with guys too. I've had infatuations & long term crushes that I never told, because I reckoned it wasn't worth the risk. When it has been worth the risk, I tell the guy.

Seriously a friend guy that's too emo/wussy to tell me he likes me, probably can't handle an adult relationship. A nice guy, who is mature & has a backbone can tell a female friend that he's into her & take it like a man for better or worse.

Nice guys, if you don't tell your platonic friend that you like her after spending loads of time together, please don't blame her for not reading your mind. Take the risk or GTFO with that BS.

AMEN!!!!!!!!

And one more thing:

We don't sit around with our friends giggling about how retarded/lame/weak we think our friend is. We appreciate the friendship we have with the person. Our friends also wouldn't sit there mocking him and telling us how he has a crush on us. That's just so pre-school. We aren't total monsters. We are normal human beings who are just trying to make sense of the world we encounter. We don't always understand what we feel or how he feels about us. We human!

And get kicked around too!!

Jee this thread turned nasty quickly.

I thought the craigslist post was amusing and not entirely contrary to some of the things I have seen.

I did a rough estimate and concluded that of all the girls that I've been friends with since I were 20 about much more than half ended up dating and marrying engineers.

Damn engineers.

Wooohooo! Electrical Engineering ftw! (Never thought I'd say that out loud...)

Been there, done that - they always feel threatened by the notion and the "let's just be friends" speech essentially means "gtfo, i never want to see you again!". I probably needed to work on my approach though. :o

A lot of women think they can 'cure' or 'change' bad men.

Ain't never gonna happen. He's gonna drag you down with him into the gutter.
What Miss blu said.

Voicy whipping it out and saying come Biatch let's screw more than likely is a very wrong approach :D

Yeh - I kinda didn't see that working out to well either...

It's gotten so bad that whenever a nice girl chats to me I always ask her: "What's wrong with you?"

Being close friends with a woman is normally the kiss of death if you ever want to be involved romantically - especially if she is under 25. There are exceptions to the rule though.

Preaching to the choir here dude.

Go to a strip club and get some confidence there, then get a good haircut, buy some decent clothes, go out to Stones with a friend or two and just start talking to women making sure to get their phone number.

Some interesting comments made and then it got all defensive.

Both genders are to blame so you can't just blame him or her because we all live up to cliches. They have to start somewhere...

I don't know about most women but I look for someone who is....

Hard-working and self motivated
Generous with his time
Outgoing
Fit- I can't think of anything worse than a guy being holed up in his room all day
Handsome

Money is also a factor (I'm no saint :p) but I like modest men and if you start flashing it around I'm gone

Meh... all pretty stereotypical I guess but one thing that makes me different is that I don't date guys that I couldn't imagine one day marrying, otherwise I'm just wasting his time and mine

I don't think I could be more opposite to every mentioned if I tried ;)

Of course most women would be stereotypical in what they want in men. Otherwise it wouldn't be a stereotype now would it? :D

That's just it. Both sides of fence are to blame when confusion between friendship/romance develops.

Craigslist's post put the blame squarely on the part of the female and it was total nonsense.

Sounds like a job interview

Someone like me would just say "too much effort" :p

Haha but surely it's a good thing to have an idea of what you're looking for?

Haha I used to be less strict and date the fun guys but that never worked out... so now I just don't waste their time I suppose

And surely guys enjoy a challenge? Like having to make an effort?
