I'm always curious, but what sort of sites do you guys host?
Is it mostly blogging? Are you reselling or monetizing it somehow?
Or is it just for the heck of it?

I have 2. One is an auto blog that's monetized but not really doing too well because that area of the net is saturated as hell.

My second one is a personal online CV.

Personal blog to rant and document stuff I find useful. Don't actually know why I have it, probably just to play with Wordpress.

Well I host a website to help other people pick a web host (http://hostingweb.co.za). I originally created it because there wasn't anything like it in South Africa. I'm trying to monitise it but it brings in very little. Enough to cover the hosting costs though.

I'm also hosting my company website which is mandatory for a company these days.

Then I'm also hosting a web application that I will start monetising a bit later in the year.

And lastly I had to develop a blog for the previously mentioned web application so I'll be using that same blog engine to have my own little blog which I'll start this weekend if all goes well.

I think the real answer is it completely depends on your needs, our clients host all sorts of websites through us ranging from business websites to personal blogs to informative sites. Many people will simply register a web address just to use the email component of the domain.

I have several domains and websites. A forum, a blog (not too active), a torrent box/file server on a VPS, a startup that never got off the ground, and one hosting the HTML5 version Mario.

Mostly just for ****s and giggles. I don't run any ads.

Mostly to have a cool e-mail address. It's my surname .com. So I have my [email protected]. It causes some problems in SA in that people don't listen and send it to co.za instead of .com

I have a few , my most active is a recipe sharing site
www.halaalrecipes.co
Average 400 000+ recipe views a month.

Omg I use that website ! I have made so many foods from it!

You are simply a legend sir !

I host a forum for Gran Turismo racing and a website just for testing purposes.
No monetising.

My website picked up some problems after it crashed and installing a backup.
I now can't access some of the 3rd party software, nor can I uninstall or update it and I don't want to lose my database and post history.

Any link for that last one?
