Why fibre installations take longer on certain networks

This is a very useful table to have. At least gives you good indication of the waiting times.

Fibrehoods: 7 months and counting.

Openserve: 6 months and counting...

A360 waiting 6 and half months now. At home today waiting for them to come and install the fibre.

Is that from date of expression of interest or actual placement of an order?

Well they said fibre will be ready by Feb 2017 which then got moved and moved and moved to June then when it was ready in June the most useless contractors you can imagine was hired by A360 to do the installation. Tomorrow is another day for them. Took them 2 hours to pull the fibre through the conduit that had a pulling wire already and just left because it's late.

Today I'm waiting for 2 hours already while they play with 1 fibre install in the estate. These people don't have speed.

So actual install date I would reckon from 1 June until well lets hope in the next 2 hours or so.

IMO they should only have accepted actual orders from that date. There is no way they can make promises while the construction phase is still underway. There's just too much that can go wrong!

Openserve took 8 days for me including unblocking pipes...when that failed they installed new piping under the whole complex just for my line (im still shocked they went that far for me)

You are far too patient.

I escalated to project managers, COO, CEO PA, Twitter, Facebook...

I’ve changed ISP, have two applications in parallel.

In every case, they’ve put their head in the sand and answered with lies or generic answers.

Just nothing worked and same for everybody else in my complex.

I’ve taken LTE contracts now, so the day they come, they can go fly a kite.

I signed and emailed my documents to them in January. They only replied in July to say the first debit order will run end of July. When I sent an email back asking but I don't have any fibre yet no reply.

Contractors appointed by A360 to do the installed phoned this past Friday saying they want to do the install now obviously I'm at work. Rush home 2 hours early and they managed only to pull a fibre cable 10m in 2 hours time and left. Now they made an appointment with me for 10am and I'm still waiting for them to pitch up.

These people are a Joke to be honest but what choice do I have. Them or nothing. No Telkom copper or fibre just Telkom LTE which is dog slow because it's 1 tower overlooking thousands of town houses in estates...

Our fibre installation took 6 days (through Axxess). Just a pity the contractor of OpenServe botched the fibre box on the pole. OpenServe said there will be an investigation before they can continue.

So finally got the fibre. From January 2017 to 17 July 2017 from scratch to fibre live and installed.

I see A360 is targeting more estates in Kosmosdal Centurion.

Our fibre to the estate is installed and shows a purple "fibre ready" on Openserve, but the area is not yet connected to the greater Openserve network (at the exchange). GPON is not yet active. So we wait... No dates can be given :(
