Why i hate Telkom

WOW !!!!

I've had the most bullshit service ever!! After making four seperate requests, each one with its own reference to cancel my Telkom account, i am now sitting in a situation , 8 months later after spending so much money and time calling, going in store , emailing, on the portal, in the ****n customer support and still no one can cancel my account.

I'm afraid of being listed as the balance on my account says i owe them R7900 as they did not cancel the account properly ... i received the reference numbers, i received the sms' but ****, it still deducts every month and now i don't know what to do .

Can someone please advise me, or help me out please. I really had the most worst experiences facing Telkom ever!!
 
Thank you :) I spoke to one of the consultants via the web chat interface yesterday and they assured me the line will be canceled and that my account balance will be reversed after that .. i really hope this is the case. I've read up of plenty of people in similiar situations as me which ended up having to face legal action. I really don't have the time and energy for that though lol i just want internet ... I live in Highbury Kuilsriver, Cape Town . Could you potentially recommend ISP alternatives to Telkom?
 
Wireless Internet Service Provider - WISP.
 
Yes, i've tried WISP now but they don't have coverage for the area unfortunately. Are there any other alternatives that anyone is aware of?
 
Clueless Telkom fykkers still trying to debit my bank account at odd moments.

I keep having their illegal attempts reversed.

Keep going, Telkom - I can keep this up longer than you and it is going to cost you.
 
What I find really strange is how different the experience is with Telkoms home (ADSL) vs mobile departments.

I've opened and closed 3 mobile contracts this year with no issues and their products and prices are brilliant.
People with ADSL though are always complaining about their incompetence.

I was with Telkom Mobi on WiFi.

Ah, then your experience is just completely different to mine.

Did you cancel in store?

My 2 cancellations in store went through without a hitch.
The other was done online and was not done on time.
A post of their Facebook and Twitter page got that taken care of quite quickly.

No, cancelled online.

Dozens of emails and Twitter posts later, I have received the reply "we are escalating" about 7 different times.

While they continue to try to steal from me.

But they're paying the reversal costs, so they can carry on.

My biggest fear is that they attempt to blacklist me
 
What's puzzling is there's a Telkom rep here on myBB who doesn't seem to accomplish much.

I swear I am not kidding but I always had good experience with Telkom. Their guys always turn up on the day they say and work gets done without issues. Between 3 house moves in last 15 years, it has been good experience so far. By rare stroke of luck, I probably got competent guys each time.

p.s. Talking about Telkom landline/ADSL experience.

Not much admittedly :ROFL::ROFL: ............... but he could start with following up on cancellations made by myBB members, at least those with reference numbers and who have paid up to date.

I'm not sure, perhaps the systems are so borked that even if he personally submits the cancellation, the system continues to debit. Who knows what goes on there.
