That is what annoys me about apple people a bit, comparing what apple vs which ever device can or can not do out of the box, especially for some one that installs apps and tinkers about to get the best features out of what ever device and OS they use.
There is probably very little that devices can or can't do with 3rd party apps and a little know how.For 70 year old average joe, it's entirely a different story, but shame on any one technically inclined able to do more then average joe, looking for lazy excuses.
My brother has an Imac, iphone, apple TV, and Ipads, he showed me you can type an email and then move to another device and continue with the same email, and I asked, Yeah so how often do you need to move over to another device to continue the email.
Then I asked how is it any different from cloud based services, or gmail or google docs, there is likely an extra step or two involved with google docs or saving email as a draft.
As a development enviroment it isn't what it use to be, 3D, graphic design, CAD , ect most of these people have moved over to windows.
So no I don't get why you are clinging to tech and OS, that has propriety cables, propriety software, propriety this, plus the short support period for devices and then apple will actively make it more difficult to use the device intentionally....Price of a macbook compared to the hardware you get is stupid....I can afford to break a laptop with macbook type hardware specs and buy a new
Thanks very much I will rather have a warm beer for the rest of the year, then consider using an apple device....
Agree wholeheartedly. And the bold part is what pisses me off. I can get more mileage out of a Windows machine than a Mac. That is what they have to say "2013" or "late 2013" model, so you know if the bucket full of transistors is still useable. Windows machine I just upgrade the GPU, CPU(when needed) etc and I can get more years out of the base hardware. When the base hardware gets old, I can most probably reuse the upgraded parts. Much cheaper in the long run.
Had a similar issue this weekend. Cordless drills/screwdrivers are all the rage. But comparing their prices and performance with a cord drill, I relized I can buy 3 cord drills for the price of one cordless .OK, I have to deal with plug locations and extensions, but it is a small setback when saving 2/3rds of the initial cost. Yes, I will not be the hipster with the cordless, but I will ge the job done for much longer that the bun-sporting bearded hipster. At some point he will have to replace his batteries at the same cost as the initial purchase. The I just buy another drill. Sometimes sensibility need to override coolness.
