Why iOS is better than Android!

Biting both sides of and use the cookie as a straw for coffee, wow.

iOS gets my vote, there is some sort of standard, and all the Apple devices compliment each other.

Tim Tims > Apple and Android combined.

How do you stop an android app from accessing your contacts, messages, photos, mic ... etc.
I was going to download this one app from the store and it says it needed access to just about everything and a dna sample if it could.
Is there somewhere you can block it from all that and still use the app?
Android 6/Settings/Apps/app_name/Permissions

On/off as you wish and won't break apps designed for 6.

(don't know if that's Cyanogenmod or all Android)

So if touchwizz has memory issues and slows down the device, why is Samsung still adding it?

"Hey, iPhone, you're looking really smart today!"

"Why, thank you, iPod, you're looking very good for your age."

Thanks. That was really constructive and helpful.

My pleasure.
The point being you are comparing a screwdriver with a black handle against a screwdriver with a red handle. And one of those exists purely to profile you and influence anything you do online, which is pretty advanced for a screwdriver.

That's interesting.

Like how Apple is still firmly in China while Google pulled out as they didn't want to provide all the backdoors and access that the government requested. Let's not pretend that these companies are saints.

try Tizen or Sailfish if you like almost native Linux software on your mobile.
Personally following the development of the Tizen phones. Samsung seems to be treading carefully and not willing to commit themselves too much, but I hope it pans out.

iOS, Android, meh. As it has been brought out in previous posts, their different strengths and weaknesses end up with an almost 50-50 score. I would probably get an Android as the cost of iPhones is almost prohibitive

For now Maemo on the Nokia N900 is serving my needs just fine, and no iPhone/Droid can compete with N900 when it comes to multitasking down to this day, except maybe in showing two different windows simultaneously. Obviously small screen. Here's a selection of videos of the multitasking in action, https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=nokia+n900+multitasking+

I want them to profile me because it gives me stuff like this https://gmail.googleblog.com/2016/03/smart-reply-comes-to-inbox-by-gmail-on-the-web.html

Just like in the Inbox mobile app, Smart Reply saves you precious time by suggesting up to three responses based on the emails you get. Selecting an option starts a reply, ready for you to either edit or send:

I'm sure multitasking is a dream on that 600mhz CPU. And don't forget the 256mb of RAM. :D

it's an old machine for sure, and does show its age. did you look at any of the videos though to see it in action? with the RAM, most users activate swap on microSD. makes a very big difference.

this particular 'flexibility' of this phone has prompted some of the fanboys (let me put it that way) to work towards an upgrade of the N900, dubbed Neo900 ... http://neo900.org for details. simply because iOS/Android has not yet covered some aspects of mobile use that could be had on the 2009 device.
