Why iOS is better than Android!

Why talk about TouchWiz specific problems in an Android tread? Problems that Android itself does not have. Hence my contention that it is irrelevant.

Because Samsung Galaxy phones run Android as their OS. Obviously.

But if you put it that way, how would you know what problems Android does or does not have when according to your own criteria, you have no experience of it?

Irrevent to the discission because it is not "Why iOS is better than TouchWiz!"

Touchwiz is a launcher. Why on earth would we compare an operating system with a launcher?

Blackberry>Galaxy S2>Note2>Nexus 5> Iphone 6> LG G4. What is your point?

I didn't have one. You told me to get educated on Android but it's clear you are the one who is a bit lost.

You call it fragmentation I call it choice.

I don't know what that means.

No it is not. It is more than just superficial. That is like saying Ubuntu is "just a Linux skin". Do you have an idea how ridiculous that sounds? That kind of logic can stand in a non tech site, but not on myBB.

If you are going to compare Samsung product against iOS then go ahead but do not say Android and Samsung are not one and the same thing.

So in your mind Samsung phones don't run android?

Strictly speaking, no they don't. They run an Android based OS i.e TouchWiz.

You know you are talking out your ass. According to Samsung.com, the Samsung Galaxy S7 runs Android. Samsung themselves say it's Android and not TouchWiz.

With all the talk about iOS security. / fbi wanting access etc, how does android measure up?

Ok, you believe that.

You do understand the difference between the actual OS and the skin/launcher, don't you?

sigh. the fact that you think TouchWiz is a launcher tells me you have no idea what you are talking about. Let me spell it out for you: on a Samsung the OS is TouchWiz, which is based on Android. What is colloquially called a skin is more than just a skin because the changes that Samsung makes are not superficial. they change a lot of things and at that point it is not longer Android but a different OS based on Android. Samsung calls it TochWiz. The same can be said of Sense and LG's stuff. Do not let the colloquial name "skin" fool you.

I launcher is something like Nova or Apex. In other words it is an app that changes only the superficial stuff like icons, screen layout etc. TouchWiz is NOT a launcher. Samsung ship their phone with their own launcher as part of TouchWiz but the two are distinct.

Is this a joke? Show me a proper spec sheet that says runs Andriod. You will not find it. They always say something to the effect that it "is based on" or something to that effect.

I hope you guys who are busy arguing over Android/Touchwiz don't write software for a living, especially android apps.

We understand the essential differences between Android (Google version), Cyanogenmod, TouchWiz etc. However, ngwe23 pretending that Samsung's phones don't represent the Android experience is just plain bollocks.

It's not called TouchWizz anymore.

Samsung ditched TW with the S6, although essentially nothing has changed.

Seems we need to change the title to: "Android Interfaces(Touchwizz etc.) vs Cocoa"

Any thread with Android vs IOS is gonna turn into some kind of sh*tfest.

I don't know why people fall for the bait...

Two different ecosystems. Stop comparing the two. It's the internet ffs. A thread on an internet forum isn't going to change your life. If it does, you have bigger problems.

Well actually it does, if the app is designed to run in the background.. it can. Why you would want the majority of apps to run in the background..i'm not so sure.
I paid for the phone and want to use it my way. Just like I don't close apps in Windows I don't use. I see the iPhone will only get wireless charging this year. Lol. Android had that circa 2012.
