Why iOS is better than Android!

Except the iPhone doesn't do true multitasking. It just suspends apps. I want all my apps to continue running and let the memory subsystem deal with RAM.

Well actually it does, if the app is designed to run in the background.. it can. Why you would want the majority of apps to run in the background..i'm not so sure.

It does when you are talking about an S7 edge.

No it does not. Bad memory management is a flaw that is unique to TouchWiz. You cannot, on that basis, say Android has bad memory management.

Then why keep throwing RAM at it? Chrome also has good memory management.

Perhaps not. But he is specifically talking about an S7 edge. And most of the other manufacturers put their skins over the top as well, perfectly highlighting the problem with Android. If there was a 'Play' edition of Android for each phone then the problems wouldn't arise, but there isn't. And they do.

There's no point talking and comparing everything with vanilla Android when a handful of phones run it. Android is whatever phone you happen to be talking about.

It is true that TouchWiz is not optimised and has bad memory, but that factoid is irrelevant in a discussion about iOS and Android. Android does NOT have said memory management problems.

How is that an Android problem. I suggest you educate yourself on what is and is not Android.

I'd have said it was quite relevant when the poster talks specifically about the problems with Touchwiz.

Read it again...

Watching this vid one fails to understand how a 2015 6s with 2gb of RAM is just better at multitasking than a 2016 S7 edge with 4gb of RAM.

iOS efficiency & maybe some better optimization needed for TouchWiz

He's talking about Touchwiz. Is that so difficult for you to grasp?

I've owned a Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 7. What about you?

No, it is not.

Of course it is. It is what people happen to be using and that fragmentation is half of the problem with Android.

To the people saying Samsung Touchwiz doesn't equal Android should check which manufacturer sells the most Android handsets, the majority seller should be the representative of the system when the system is being compared, not the niche seller who sells a tiny percentage.

Absolutely not. Might as well change the tread topic to "Why iOS is better than TouchWiz!".

Touchwiz is just an android skin, so it's still saying the same thing. If Samsung sell the majority then it is quite fair to compare their products to iOS. If Nexus were the majority seller then it would be them, unless you are specifically comparing the Nexus.

It's a bit like democracy...

Why talk about TouchWiz specific problems in an Android tread? Problems that Android itself does not have. Hence my contention that it is irrelevant.

Irrevent to the discission because it is not "Why iOS is better than TouchWiz!"

Blackberry>Galaxy S2>Note2>Nexus 5> Iphone 6> LG G4. What is your point?

Of course it is. It is what people happen to be using and that fragmentation is half of the problem with Android.

You call it fragmentation I call it choice.

No it is not. It is more than just superficial. That is like saying Ubuntu is "just a Linux skin". Do you have an idea how ridiculous that sounds? That kind of logic can stand in a non tech site, but not on myBB.

If you are going to compare Samsung product against iOS then go ahead but do not say Android and Samsung are not one and the same thing.
