Why is it always a McLaren?

Pretty easy, they are finely tuned supercars. Very unforgiving when doing something stupid.

Always a Ferrari or Porsche in JHB.

Maybe the richies innie kaap want to be different.

Unironically because they have amazing driver aids. A Lambo will scare the bejeesus out of you long before you exceed its capabilities. A Ferrari... you're lucky if the electronics were working in the first place. But you have to be doing something incredibly stupid to outdrive the McLaren's nannies, at which point you're fighting the limitations of physics, not your meager driving abilities.

This.

My first time on the Track driving a McLaren stock car was amazing. The sheer sudden speed and the amount of concentration and control needed was something else. A small mistake meant a crash at those speeds.

It is universally regarded you want a driver's car, a proper driver's car go McLaren or you go home.

The majority of these type of crashes in CT are McLarens, why? CT simply has better driving roads than the rest of country (easily). People can exploit these proper supercars on proper roads. Higher chances of McLaren eff ups.

Upcountry the supercar of choice to crash is Porsche and/or Ferrari with a Lambo sometimes in the mix.

Feel free to "debate" me on the above.

Don’t really agree.

Complete lack of driver training much more likely.

Besides the speeding in a kak place, anyone with an ounce of driver education would simply have braked and made a non-event of it.

I don’t see another thread in the motoring section so then it must have been somewhere else.

Human duplicates I can live with…it’s the bots doing it I can’t stand.

And here I thought it was that they are well known for losing important nuts and bolts and being generally unreliable.

While I haven’t driven a McLaren I’ve driven a few others and probably because I’m well aware of my limitations not to have the bejesus scared out of me is why I’ve never crashed one.

The most fun are the ones without any electronics whatsoever.

But I also have the bike advantage on my side. I think many of these crashes are the result of people jumping from an Opel Corsa straight into a super car and thinking they are good drivers.

They definitely do seem more popular down here so maybe it’s a case of there simply being more.

Ferraris are usually just broken down and being loaded on a flatbed.
