Brakes are not a magic bullet. Lots of accident also happen from braking incorrectly or the incorrect time especially at those speeds.

100%.

There were many fails already in motion before that, but a bit of cadence braking and general awareness would have gone a long way.

The right answer would have been not being in that situation in the first place.

Maybe it was the shoes…

He did brake. You can see the brake lights come on before he swerves and the left rear wheel clips the pavement where it juts into the road.
 
I don’t really see the appeal of a supercar like a MacLaren. If I really had to get a fancy car, I’d go for something that doesn’t break the bank like an Alpha Romeo.

I used to have a 600HP M6 Competition. I would say this, modern high performance vehicles are quite refined and easy to accelerate - even the rear wheel drive variety. This can very quickly lure you into a space where you think you can drive in all conditions.

Obviously this is not the case. I can however say from experience, the trap is there and I can understand how weaker minds may fall for it.

At the time I was living in Green Point and never drove like this in the area. Not excusing the idiot at all.
