Why middle-aged men must do 40 push-ups

A study by researchers at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health suggests that middle-aged men who can do over 40 push-ups have a much lower chance of suffering heart disease.

The researchers followed 1,100 middle-aged firefighters for over 10 years, tracking how many push-ups they could do – as well as their performances on treadmills.

Rather stick to my kettle bell routine if 40 pushups turns you into this

I think it is common knowledge that exercise/working out has long-term health benefits.

- Impact training (running and weight training) can slow down bone loss.
- Any sort of exercise that get's your blood pumping is good for the heart.
- Compound exercises such as squats, bench press and deadlifts help boost testosterone levels, which is excellent for men in their mid-30s and beyond as our test levels start dropping.

I don’t get this obsession with growing old. We are all eventually going to die.
