bog off, it's too little too late, i was kicked off your network last year, and told I could never return. Thanks, it's worked out really well for me!

Now it seems Mweb is blatantly lying to appease there customers.

Evening Brian

We have a responsibility to ensure all our customers get a decent internet experience. At the moment though , the behaviour and excessive usage requirements of a very small percentage ( less than 3% ) of users impact negatively on the rest. We have to address this to ensure good overall performance to all.

I implore you to reconsider this stance. All our competitors are already throttling on their accounts and I can assure you that you will still receive the best value for money with MWEB, in comparison to current market offerings.

That's simply not true.

As an Openweb customer, I can happily confirm that what MWEBGUY said about the competitors is BS :D

You would think that one couldn't get away with such a generalised statement like that and I agree with your sentiment but these "ISP's" use the words "throttling/shaping/QOS" very loosely and at the end of the day all these terms mean the same thing: diminished output. So technically, they are right, although, people are starting to discover for themselves after leaving and trying other ISP's that the diminished output isn't nearly as bad (read: you get what you pay for) as Mweb (read: rip off), and they are trying to use scare tactics with their customers making them believe that the grass isn't greener when actually it is (at the moment, I guess)

No, there's definitely a big difference between throttling and shaping.

Hi Zewp,

I agree with you and I know the difference, but when it come's down to statements like from mweb above, I don't see them getting penalised for comments like that as I feel the powers-that-be don't know/see a difference, which allows them to make sweeping statements like that, that you and I know aren't true.
