If you go into the back of someone after they brake, you are to blame 100% according to the law.
Otherwise, 9/10 you are going to lose.
So, we started at 100% to blame, and now we're down to 90%.

No.
He was turning left INTO the road in front of me, from the side road at the intersection.
Can only assume that they claimed he was well through the intersection when I hit him, or something.
Maybe "they" decided you were going too fast for the road conditions?
Unless it went to court, the decision to allocate blame to one or other party often has more to do with convenience and pragmatics than actual blame.
I hate traveling on the roads more and more every day. No matter how hard your try to get to your destination in one piece, you are always seconds away from being taken out by some other idiot that is speeding, passing on a blind corner or focused on their cellphone. I'm always focused on as many cars around me as possible trying to predict what they are going to do next. Very tiring![]()
2 seconds not 2 car lengths. 2 seconds at 120km/h is 67 meters.
Lets be realistic here, how is 2 seconds a measurement of distance?

It is, provided you know what speed you are doing - you can measure it down to the last mm if you know the speed - I also feel, however, that the gap should be bigger at a higher speed, as not all cars are equipped with 4 pot Brembo brakes on each wheel!![]()

Tyres are the limiting factor not the brakes, else abs would be unnecessary ;-)
I am driving in the right hand lane constantly passing traffic in the left. There's a string of cars ahead of me in the right hand hand lane all going 120.
I leave a safe following distance between me and the car ahead of me in the right hand lane. Some douche-nozzle comes speeding past in the left hand lane then swings back in front of me to avoid hitting the slow moving traffic in the left. Or even better, the chop comes driving 2mm from the back of my car flashing me to move over. It actually happened on my way back yesterday a guy did this *while* I was passing a few trucks on the left. The level of stupid cannot be fathomed.
Tho it's strenuous on me so I don't do it all the time and for long periods) and I will literally make your life hell even follow you home and then to the police station and back to your place!
