Why Takealot killed Kalahari

Will Takealot now also have the post option for orders over R1000?

Yeah, the kalahari poor service people joined, their ability to give a .... certainly has gone. They used to be good, now they're just kalahari with another name. I have used them since Take2 days, and they really went form strength to strength. The last 4 transactions I had with them were pure disaster, I ended up cancelling 2 of them, and just having to live with the stuff ups of the other 2. Pity, it was a real choice we used to have. Guess its back to brick and mortar...............

I'm hoping it's just teething issues because of the merge.

I say that as I'm waiting to hear back from them after they delivered a laptop with the wrong specs. :(

Liked the Kalahari branding better, now I need to use a company that say that they want to takealot of my money in their name... guess at least they are honest about it lol.

Will be a while before I use them.
youve never used takealot? Take2?

Nope, just Kalahari and Orms.

too bad, scored some good deals from them in the past
not sure if we will see vouchers/deals like we did before though
there service for me was also better than kalaharis

And I have yet another Takealot delivery which arrived a day early with no problems. Think the last time I had a big problem with them was when they were still take2.
Kalahari on the other hand cancelled several of my orders

One thing I must say is that TakeAlot are always willing to go the extra mile. No matter what my issue was, they've always been accommodating and committed to sorting it out asap. They're one of the few companies in SA where I feel that customer satisfaction forms a core part of their business strategy.

Kalahari, on the other hand, I thought the complete opposite of. Their after-sales support was practically non-existent. Just getting into contact with their support was a mission on its own. Orders would get delayed with no explanation or simply not delivered when scheduled and support was never very helpful. If you got through they would usually shrug their shoulders and tell you that they'll call you back, which they never did. This was a widespread issue which was reflected in the amount of complaints on HelloPeter and their Facebook page.

Kalahari was truly a pathetic company in its dying throes. Good riddance to bad rubbish. I never understood what people saw in the company, aside from the copious amounts of vouchers they gave out.

There is a post option on checkout but currently not available due to SAPO strikes.
LOL. The strike's been over for 5 months. They're seriously behind the time. Used to be limited to 1kg and R1000 anyway so not very useful unlike Loot's.

I've had good experience with Kalahari. Their customer support was always a little slower but at the end they refunded and replaced everything I ever needed them to do. Take2 or was it The Shopping Matrix had excellent support imo. They once replaced a product for a better version even after warranty, with no questions asked. Those guys now run Raru.

The Shopping Matrix became Take2 and Take2 later became TakeAlot.

I am aware of that. In my case I dealt with both and I can't remember exactly which did the particular exchange but I think it was TSM.

takealot used to be great... did more than 300 orders with them since 2005 but they're going down the drain since their merger with Kalahari. they used "the courier guy" and I always had my stuff the next day but since the merger they're now using "fedex" and its taking up to a week to get your package. guess i'll be shopping at brick and mortar stores in future.

two packages of a friend got lost by fedex in two months. no good.

not recommending takealot anymore, sorry.

I wouldn't say their service has gone down the drain, but their Daily Deals have.

Bought a mini kitchen last week. The oven light did not work.
Today they replaced it with a second hand broken , bent , badly damaged piece of rubbish and then asked me to fill in a survey !!!!!

Did you have to dig up every Takealot thread you could find to post this?!
Yes.

Might just be the hell in after warning them 6 times and Salton 6 times not to send something without checking it first. And to top it off they tell me later that all their current stock is damaged returns !!!!

What you did is so annoying that I'm going to buy things from Takealot tonight to spite you.
Special on mini kitchens. R100 off for each dent.
Hurry tho. They only have 6 in stock.
