I got the HD2 in November 2009 after researching it extensively. It was rumoured it would be freely upgraded to WinMob7 but that was just a rumour probably started by HTC, it never happened.
The main problem is this is a device is sold as a phone with excellent browsing and connectivity solutions for social networking.
After using it for a few weeks you begin to realise that this is a device that has excellent browsing and connectivity solutions for social networking but fails miserably as a phone.
It's great to be able to poke your friends on Facebook (no pun) from the beach whilst letting the world know your location with your GPS but trying to make a simple phone call to tell the Misses you will be late home whilst trying to cope with rush hour traffic is virtually impossible due to the awkward navigation menus and stupidly small touch keypad.
That's assuming you can see the keypad because if you are outdoors daylight makes the screen almost impossible to see.
HTC should have designed this as a phone first that can make calls easily and then added other functionality. Sadly they have turned what could have been a real competitor to the iPhone into just another overpriced piece of junk.
I have now sold it to some poor unsuspecting mug on eBay and have gone back to the faithful Nokia N series.
