Read the above link and make up your own mind. Notice how it is not even being sold by some outlets due to it's horrible OS and complete instability. Now there's not even a remote chance of the phone getting better.

I absolutely despise HTC as a brand and vow to never ever again in my life buy a HTC handset again. The HD 2 is a VERY costly mistake and is a sub par phone on every level except, it has a slightly larger screen so the FAIL comes through in HD brilliance.

Do NOT make the same mistake I did by buying this handset. Stay the heck away from this handset. It is utter CRAP. I seem to be the only HD2 owner here willing to speak the TRUTH about this handset. It's a gimmick at best. It is NOT a decent phone.

Weird - everyone I've spoken to love theirs...and I've spoken to quite a few people - including our IT guy downstairs who keeps coming up to tell me its the best phone he's ever had.

PS - the 'TRUTH' is an opinion - and I bet I can find the same sort of "I hate xxxxx" on just about every single mobile phone released.

Ever wonder why you're the "only HD2 owner here willing to speak the TRUTH" - my guestimate would be that the rest are actually HAPPY - MyBB isn't exactly known for people keeping quiet when they don't like something.

I also love the fact that MS not releasing Win Mob 7 for the HTC HD2 makes the HD2 crap... not to sure where the logic behind that is

What???

Every single review I've read, and there are a few, praise the device and slate the Windows OS. I will be geting it that is for sure, roll on 20th March.

Are they really not releasing Win7 for the HD2? That is such a pity:(

Hmm.. I was actually considering getting this phone, amid all the rumours and speculation that the HD2 will get a free, official firmware upgrade to Windows Phone 7 aka WM7.

At least this official announcement from MS clears things up, though you will probably still be able to upgrade to WM7 using custom/hacked firmware provided by XDA Developers.

I will now have to wait for HTC Desire...

*sigh*

still sooooo long!

Shame Mr. Anderson you weren't winning in the other posts so tried a new one....
Just a word of advice, if you hate the phone, if you think it's rubbish, that's fine - but at least base it on some of your own experience.

Why do you hate this phone so much that you would go through all the trouble? Of the 20 odd other people who have this device, you're the only one who seems to hate it so. And I'm beginning to wonder if you even own own, or hell, actually touched one...

Get a life buddy. Anyone can look up reviews. But I'd take the word of someone who actually has has some real life experience with it.
You seem to have ZERO actual personal experience to share... why is that???

When asked, you simply respond that you won't respond...

And PS> there's a difference btwn the OS and actual hardware... don't slate the phone because you couldn't get a handle on WM

.

While i can't comment on this particular phone, you do seem to be attacking the wrong target here. It's not HTCs fault if Microsoft did not bother to upgrade their Mobile OS in 5 years. The crappy + outdated OS does not mean the HTC hardware is poor. If HTC now launched a bunch of phones with an actual polished OS , would you dislike HTC still?

Even the article you linked is clearly all about Microsoft shafting HTC, not the other way around...

Almost all my personal issues with HTC phones are with the particular flavor of Windows Mobile that comes with it. A few years ago WM was quite a good upgrade from Symbian et al , but now it's just shameful seeing Microsoft shoveling the same old crap OS on the newer phones.

I guess all HTC can do is not to deal with Microsoft, which i doubt will happen...well not until WM7 is considered another weak release.

The problem is Mr Anderson is fed up that he bought a phone he doesn't like. He's probably feeling frustrated for not having done more research beforehand.
He also hasn't a clue about the difference between software and hardware, hardware manufacturer and software developers...

He tried the same thing on another thread and didn't get very far with his argument. He hasn't been able to provide SINGLE problem that he's had with the device - just keeps repeating that it's horrible and terrible blah blah.

I wouldn't take him very seriously TBH

I've personally never had a problem with Windows Moblie, it can do WAY more than Symbian could in my hands.

Never tried a Blackberry or Andriod.

+1
Once I get to play around with Android I may have a change of heart, but thus far, I love WM and can't see myself using anything else

hi i dont have a HTC but how funny is this dude that starts a this thread and the other one and does not back up his clame to be lame

like some other person said he doesnt have one .

Research before buying!

Ag shame, Mr Anderson! :p

It seems to me you didn't properly research your choice before buying!

All your complaints that I've seen in this and other threads seem to be because you feel "done in".

Did someone promise you something you didn't get? Who, and What?

Personally I LOVE my HTC. Can I claim it's the "BEST" phone out there? No ... Why? Because in order to do that I'd have to use every single phone out there. I can only judge on my own experience.

AND THE SAME FOR YOU.

WP7 ... When it comes out, if the kind people at xda do port it to the HD2, I will happily take for a spin ... and then, AND ONLY THEN, will I express an opinion about how wonderful/terrible it is. However ... and this is a big however ...

... I didn't buy my HD2 because I expected to run another OS on it ... I bought it because, out of the box, it satisfied my requirements.

Now, if, "out of the box" isn't good enough for you, why didn't you wait a few months? I really don't understand that attitude.

Now, I think we all agree with your right to express your opinion and share your experience with the phone ... but please stop recycling 2nd hand opinions and start telling us what YOU cannot do with the phone that you need/want to. Maybe we can help you learn to use it. :D

Just put Android on the bloody thing!

What I love about Leaf (HTC) is that they have real phones you can play with. Not like the dummy phones in other shops. Why didn't you try it first to see if it caters for YOUR needs? That's where I was impressed with the HD2. Getting mine on Sunday. Have used the Leaf after sales service once, to replace my Tytn II 's screen. I was very happy with the service. Service was the one reason I left Nokia. Thanks Nokia, I'm so much happier with HTC service and it's Products!!!!!!!
