True Telkom never told us someday we'd be getting rollover (FIFO), data transfer, and no OOB shark attacks. They just did it.

How long have you guys been working on killing the shark?

Well if you want to talk about speed perhaps VC should stop supporting older technologies hogging the spectrum.

A couple of the other posts, I would have understood, but for this one? You have been "working" on a limit system for years, still hasn't happened.
A similar argument there would be, if you tell the petrol attendant you want R200 worth of petrol, will he just click it in and leave it, then come back with a bill of R1000? No?

To add to this debate.
VC is currently running a "Summer Gigs" promotion, which essentially means ALL data used per day is "free", or very close to free.
The system awards you free data based on how much data you consumed the previous day.
This "free data" counts down first, every day, and if you don't use it, it expires. To be able to do the same the next day means you must use up the previous day's data plus at least 10 MB of "paid for " data every day.
If you pursue this promotion diligently, it means your "paid for" data will count down even more slowly than usual, effectively guaranteeing that any carryover data will never be used.
The net effect is that the so-called "free data" awarded in terms of this promotion is just hot air not worth the effort to pursue the daily targets.
The stupidity of all this astounds me, both on the part of VC, as well as all us suckers out there that go for these promotions.

IF the "paid for" data would deplete or countdown on a FIFO basis, then the promotion would be beneficial to all, and not only those on small packages, always on the verge of depletion.

Telkom has good normal deals. AND no OOB. AND I can transfer my unused rolled over data to other Telkom SIMs that expires much later than Vodacoms.

I see Jannie has kept quiet since I said that... thus he is unable to defend OOB and/or FIFO? You decide.

VC has implemented FIFO for monthly contracts at least! a myVC app update yesterday which ended up being a re-install shows it to be working. Have to still test for specials etc. but certainly, for a monthly carryover, it is now working that is at least for the previous month. Not sure about older than a month carryovers. Will have to see next month if there is some left over.
