Agreed - the only hope those parents electing not protect their children have is that there are enough vaccinated children around to prevent the pathogen spreading.

I know there is one vaccine that could cause a kid to become disabled if they are allergic to Eggs. I remember we had to test our kids first for allergic reactions to Egg before having them get that vaccine.

Yes they can be a killer, but I'll rather have a kid vaccinated then take the risk. The risks involved has been weighed agains the benefit and the Benefit is by far the biggest winner.

Normal flu vaccinations are an educated guess at best. All I know is when they come out with a vaccine for Swine Flu I'm taking it.

Normal flu vaccinations are an educated guess at best. All I know is when they come out with a vaccine for Swine Flu I'm taking it.

So if they can't even get the normal flu right, why would you be confident that they will get this strain right?

Well i think bwana is just saying if they came out with something that may work he would take it.

I never get a flu shot anymore and get sick every year but only a throat infection, the one year i had a flu shot i got the worse bronchitis of my life, i have never in my life been as sick as i was that week.

I will take a throat infection over that any day.

There's not one type of 'normal' flu - that's why its an educated guess - they're trying to protect against what they think will be prevalent and they generally do a fair job.

You do know that when you take this shot your immune is very very low and and will get worse and basically any 'intrusion' will cause havoc as you mentioned what happened to you ...

What's the number and how does it compare to the number of people who didnt get sick or those that got only slightly sick thanks to the vaccine.
