Why you shouldn't get a Blackberry

I was posting in regard to the topic name and some other people here...

It's still relevant. You shouldn't get a BB if the networks in SA cannot support them. I for one have just been told that I will not have BIS from Vodacom for the next two months because of network upgrades in KZN. This is unacceptable to me.

I have had a lot of phones since I import and resell phones, and no brand is as unreliable as a Blackberry. I have had 2 Blackberries (BB Tour 2 and Bold 9780) pack up on me in the last 6 months. My wife's last one also packed up.

I would stick to only using Android phones (currently using Galaxy S2) but I really like the Blackberry email and BBM services. No other mobile email or messaging can compete. Whatsapp just is not the same.

Ideally I'd use Android for my personal number and Blackberry for my business number. But I refuse to use either the 9900 or 9810 considering the amount of faulty returns I got back from the phones that I sold. So I'm using an old Bold 9700!

Blackberry need to get their $hit together or its Bye Bye for good.

I don't get this topic's title...

All I'm saying is - don't blame BlackBerry for vodacom/mtn's problems

The thread says don't buy a BB - whether it's Vodacom, MTN, RIM, the government or whoever you wish to blame - fact is Blackberry doesn't work nicely in this country (for at least 1 million+ of us anyway). It's a fair warning

Btw - many of us have had BBs for years as well and we've all experienced the service degrading

You really should read the news before making an agurment, especially when you plan on throwing around false accusations

You should read your own links, and do a bit of research (Wikipedia is an easy start). RIM has not has a loss since 2003.

So, is this ignorance, or deliberate deception?

There is nothing wrong with Blackberry, except for those of you who always want MORE (above and beyond!)

For the average joe, the BB is a brilliant phone.

i concur. i love not have to check my data bundle. and the integration i love. cant believe that two brainfarts allowed RIM to fall so far behind. talk about resting on your laurels..idiots..but i must say i find the prices of bb's ridiculous...due to their popularity here we are paying crazy prices..

For me it's the service ... wow, it is horrible.

We went through about two weeks where it worked, but now it pings out 90% percent of the time. If I'm lucky, I get a few pages within about 40 minutes sitting in traffic.
