Wifi Disconnecting

So moved to channel 12. Lasted for 5 minutes dropped connection. Moved to 11 now going to see how that goes not having any expectations currently. Seems like it doesn't matter... And as I was typing this out the connection dropped again. Yeah may just be best to try a new modem wish I had a spare one laying around

nah, then you just need to upgrade your router

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Trying the last thing I can think of... Which sounds dumb but changing the password so only one device is connected wirelessly. If it keeps dropping then yeah new router. Will slowly add devices if it holds for longer than 10 minutes

yes, maybe a factory reset on the router and then start adding..... good luck

also perhaps ask on the forum, I'm sure there must be some guys with unused ADSL modem/routers that you could pick up for peanuts - many have moved to LTE or fibre

No-one has mentioned possible interference from other sources - the WiFi Analyser will only pick up other WiFi networks, it will not show interference on the same frequency as WiFi. This could be from a Microwave oven, Bad electronics on a light fitting (especially older Fluorescent transformers), any other electrical device. Also could be a powerful wireless signal in your neighborhood. If changing the configuration doesn't work, try figure out if anything unusual is on when you get the bad WiFi. Also perhaps check with the neighbors if they are also experiencing issues at the same time.

Yeah I've read into that as well thanks for adding to it. But yeah since changing the password it's been smooth sailing. Guessing there may have been a device hogging bandwidth for some strange reason
