I use a TP-Link WiFi extender. Main router is in the TV room which is furthest from the cottage. Extender is plugged in at the kitchen window which is halfway to the cottage. Works well enough.
At work we recommend to our customers normally that we pull a cable and install a proper Access Point. A bit more expensive but will keep the speed much better and you dont have to switch networks depending where you are in the house.
