Ok, backing off a bit: none of (the rest of) us know what the area is like; maybe he's got some kind of prehistoric monster hedge in the way, but short of some pretty damn large (but passable with gain) obstruction, using external antenna action is just silly. (it's not only omni's that are 'evil' you know, inappropriately used directional antennas can also be a nuisance)

heh, you're telling me? If you look around some, you may find that I've already taken this 'heretical' to some (no names needed, they know who they are) position ..and got ranted at NO end (tho' IIRC, one of the saner members of that lynch ^H^H^H^H^H ..posse, actually showed some sign of independent thought and relented just a little (but enough) on this very point)skydog said:bdt - sometimes... just sometimes omni's are not bad.. but this case not a good idea
