I just have one question. If the USA has a document containing a list of facilities vital to US security, how on earth did it end up on Wikileaks?
It's easy to blame the messenger, but the problem here is USA security, leaving such 'vital' information out in the open. If they don't want it on the internet, they must look after it!
 
With every new release the "terrorist" angle is going to played up to the max by the establishment. "Lives are at risk. Lives are at risk. Lives are at risk" Don't fall for it.

More likely, jobs are at risk.

If these releases are so top secret and dangerous, rather than just plain embarrassing, why was it so easy to get hold of them?

Well then those employees are the one's who should be arrested for treason, not Assange who is actually providing a necessary service with Wikileaks.
 
On the whole, I don't see how leaking this is a good thing.

And the terrorist bogeyman is badly enough overblown as it is, now this will add more fuel to the fire, making people more paranoid again, and given governments further carte blanche to waste even more tax money on pointless wastes of everyone's time to combat an overblown bogeyman. Economies are struggling already.

If terrorists were really such a major threat, they would have long blown up several of these critical pieces of infrastructure all on their own. In fact, they haven't blown up anything in ages, where are all these terrorists and what are they doing all day?

Kevin Rudd is a fscking idiot, the man should shut his mouth and do nothing if he wants to be helpful to the world.

I'll tell you what is ridiculous. That you've spent the best part of today trying to influence people that Wikileaks in general, and Julian in specific is bad and evil and deserves to die. Your last 20 messages is all about negative Wikileaks comments ...

You want people killed, yes killed, with no reason. Yet, the american 18 and 19 year old boys like you , get to shoot 30 mm rounds from an Apache helicopter into the bodies of 5 and 6 year old children, and yell, "Yeaah, take that for bringing your children into a war", all in the name of securing cheap oil supplies to American luxury lives driving their gas guzzlling SUV's .

Er okay, back on subject, anybody else find it strange that such detailed information was released to the media when you can't even find the documents on the site? You wonder WHO exactly is putting it there.
 
Garyvdh, you're being a ****. There is a difference between frees speech and hate speech. Calling for someone to put a bullet in Assange's head is hate speech. He is probably releasing this information as a response to the US threatening assassination against him, and setting up rape charges against him. He needs to show them that they can hurt them if they keep antagonising him. Nothing in this leak is going to help terrorists anyway. The US just needs to be made aware that he is sitting on loads of information that can actually hurt them.

If the US had its way, Assange would be kept and tortured in prison where human rights don't apply, like Guantanamo, without a fair trial, like so many other innocent people.

Have yourself some leaked statistics. Zoom in and out, to get a real feel for the terror in Iraq, caused by the US. This is why they don't want leaks. It exposes them for the villains that they are. Think of how scared Americans were after 9/11, then compare that to the terror people face in Iraq and other middle Easter countries. Unending terror.

And if you want to go after someone who actually puts people's lives in danger, why not go after FBI agents that try to incite violence in peaceful muslims? Read this, and tell me who the real terrorists are.
 
Wikileaks needs to be responsible in their leaks. This secret location stuff and exposing what politians from various countries say and think of each other is utter nonsense. Makes you start to question what their (Wikileaks) motives really are. Personally, I want it shut down and that dude arrested yesterday. Its just not worth the trouble its causing.

He's not the source of the information. If WikiLeaks didn't release it (after review), it would most likely just appear as a torrent - or even right here!

Until yesterday I was largely undecided of whether this was freedom of expression or a blatant indictment of things of secure and confidential nature. Today I am leaning toward the latter. They have overstepped the mark this time :(

This sort of intel doesn't deserve the light of day.

It begs the question; who's leaking this info?
