WildStar

Won't call it WoW cravings as such :o Just that i really need a game to play as the ones I'm playing currently are all just bleh. I was hoping Wildstar is it. Maybe it is and I just haven't given it enough time yet. But as things stand currently I'll flogg this game and just get WoW subs again.

What level are you guys?
Are you guys playing solo or in a group?
I tend to find that solo play is pretty dull...

Have you guys tried doing a dungeon together? ( this was the seller for me )

I'm also struggling a little - although no WoW-cravings haha. Still level 16 on my Warrior which I was enjoying, but after arriving at the main city I found that things open up a bit too quickly (professions, housing, mounts, quests, areas), so I'm not 100% sure what I should be doing or focusing on. I'd guess the answer is just to get out there and kill more things. ;)

I'd say at level 14, get a house sorted. Its convenient to build up rested xp (which as far as I could tel only happens in the major city or your house plot) there. At 15 get a mount (10g so save up your money), the extra speed for getting around is much needed. You don't have to worry about professions as yet, they don't really help that much during leveling.

Usually I pick up all the quests I can in a major city, and then see which ones are close enough to my level. They generally take me to the next area (e.g. 14-20).

Still only level 16. Haven't done any group stuff and am not in a guild yet, so just playing solo yep. Must definitely try and get in there with the dungeon content.

Thanks for the tips. I've definitely been spending too much time focusing on professions, so I'll chill with that and focus on getting some money for a mount. :)

I found that this is the best format for levels 1-15.
Do every quest, sell everything that you dont need.
At level 6 enter pvp for about an hour. It is the fastest way to level to 10 at this point. Unless you hate pvp, then just carry on as normal.
At level 10 you can pick up the professions quest. Run ahead to the town that gives you this quest and select two gathering proffs. Not that the AH prices are very profitable right now, but at least you are gathering some mats while you level. Store them in your bank to either craft with later, or sell at a much later point when the prices pick up. Either way you are saving money and time.
Then get back to where you left off at level 6 and start those quests. The mobs will be completely easy mode and you will be aoe pulling packs for days. So you actually end up reaching the level 10 quest hub at about the same time you would have even if you didn't do the pvp. Reaching level 10 in pvp and getting the proffs also means that you dont miss out on all those gathering nodes in the 6-10 questing areas.

NEVER repair your gear, no piece of leveling gear will "break" before you find an upgrade for it from a later quest. You will just waste money.

Try to only buy abilities that you are going to use immediately. If you plan to make an off spec, then the money that you earn in the 15 - 22 area is far higher and will allow you to buy those abilities easily. Wasting money on them early, will prevent you from having the 11g it takes to buy a mount.

Next keep pushing through the last level before going to the main city, even if you are already level 15. Finish every quest in this zone as the money rewards will help you to reach your 11g mount.

Hit the main city, do the housing quest and go to your house for the first time. DO NOT spend 1g to build a house. Leave it in the foundation state. Instead, open your crate and place all of the decorations that you have. just out in the open. You still get the rested benefit this way.

Go back to main city and collect and finish any of the quests that introduce you to the city. Usually some kind of hologram finding quest. Do a challenge or two if you can manage it. Do the rune crafting quest. Buy your mount.

Once all of that is done, head to the next area. 15 - 22. This area will take you from 0g back up to 10g in a matter of 1 or 2 hours tops. The quest rewards are much more profitable, so only start to buy offspec abilities at this point.

if all goes well, you shouldn't hit a bottle neck at any point.

How do you join PvP?

How do you join PvP?

Hit "N". That is the button for the group finder. Under pvp, choose practice battlegrounds as that is all that is available until higher levels when arena and rated BGs are available.
Took me a while to find it, they really should have that as part of the quests in the main city hub at least. N is not even noted as one of your primary menus, you have to bring up that expanded menu drop box from the bottom left corner to find the group finder listed.

So after having finished the honeymoon phase of the game, I'm definitely sticking around...Dailies and Crafting Research keeping me entertained, with Vet Adventures + dungeons on the horizon when we have a sufficient group

I've been 50 for a couple weeks now and while still waiting for the rest of the guild to level up/gear up, my stalker is in a comfortable place.

Full crafted blues for both sets

DPS ~ 4.8k

2191 AP
8% Strikethrough
16.5% CC
175% CS

Tank

1600 SP
46% Resistance
34k HP
21% Deflect
11% Crit Deflect
5% Strikethrough

in other news... STRAIN ULTRADROP lands today!

Might not be total 4.2g download.
I was downloading around 400kb/s and left it and when I came back about a hour later, it was updated and ready to play.
Now have to wait for the realms to come back online and the struggle with levelling my stalker will continue.

Thanks for that link.
Got a lvl 25 stalker on Eko realm.
I find it a struggle with taking down npc. Most times, I am close to dying by the time I have killed the npc. Its probably my build and gear so will have a play around once back up.

Focus on Brutality > Finesse > Moxie while leveling

Another tip I found: once you get enough Ability points, utilize your 2nd spec to put 4 points into Preparation and swap to it for a quick free heal when out of combat ;)

I will agree, the downtime of a leveling stalker is a bit depressing... another tip is run Stagger and Collapse (both interrupts)

It's around 395MB.

Thanks for the advice. Changed things around as you suggested and for first time, managed to take down a elite meant for 2 people on my own.

Haven't played it myself, been a long time since I hit an MMO. What's the general feeling on the game? Going to live long and prosper?

I can't update the damn game. Keeps saying error applying patch or something. tried everything they suggested on the support page and still nothing. I give up. Re-subbing WoW.
