will 4mb go up?!

Hi all

would just like to know if 4mb adsl users will be bumped up in speed anytime soon?

cause im reading a lot of this 1>2>6>10 mb ect ect..and kinda confused with what is going on with speeds?

So can anyone share their knowledge about this and tell me please !!

It will go up alright. Up to 40mbps...for a price. And as soon as you have an MSAN, the trial ends and the product goes live :)

see now that's the thing..one guys says this and the other says that?! thats why im not getting the upgrade thing?!
right i know there are going to be upgrades ..when i'd like to know..and how much will my 4mb line be bumped up to ..
haha confusing when everyone knows bits and pieces

Might be a silly question for some but here goes. All you folks do know that if you (for example) have a 4MB uncapped account then you will be limited to 4MB regardless of your line speed being 4, 5, 6, 7, 10 MB??

I am not sure if your line will sync at 4MB or 10MB (assuming you have a 4MB capped account and an 10MB supported line from Telkom). Not sure what your router will display. I haven't tested it because I don't have an uncapped account.
 
Some uncapped accounts are more relaxed than others. Used to get 5meg on my 4meg Gold. Have since upgraded to a 6meg account though.

Dude, just go in to the Telkom Shop and ask them to check if your exchange/area supports 10Mbps.

When I check on the Telkom ADSL Checker on their website it says I can only get 4Mbps, but when I went in and asked they said that my area is supporting 10Mbps for over a year already, they just NEVER update the website.
 
i dont want to know if i can upgrade to 10mb..what i wanted to know is are we 4mb users going to get upgraded like the rest(1mb,2mb)..cause theres a lot of talk about upgrades..
 
Called Telkom 3 times already asking them if my 4 meg exchange will ever be upgrade to 10 meg and they always basically tell me the same thing i.e. if it happens then it happens. No way of checking on the system if it will. And this is why we hate Telkom :erm:

Best to collar a Telkom techie in the area when you see one. They are always more helpful :p

i think he is talking about free upgrade from telkom......answer is no.

First check if your exchange supports ADSL 2+. If it does, it's a strong indication that you'll be upgraded soon.
