Will Madonsela release 'state capture' report?

It would appear so. If the court gives the go-ahead, for releasing it, and she comes up with any excuse as to why it can't be released or its delayed in anyway, we will then know she is another Zuma puppet.

My guess is the below might be used to delay indefinitely, but as you say, we'll need to wait and see.

Questioned by African National Congress MP Bongani Bongo on the use of consultants to compile the report, and their security clearance, she said the report had been compiled by Price Waterhouse Coopers.

Consultants were also used, including former Commission for Gender Equality commissioner Janine Hicks, who was in quality assurance.

She would not say how much it had cost to get the report compiled by PWC, and merely said they would come back with a comprehensive report for the committee.

Zuma could lay charge against Madonsela over report

Former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela could end up being the target of a criminal case levelled against her by President Jacob Zuma.

This is according to a lawyer who has told City Press that Zuma’s response to the DA’s application to intervene against the release of the state capture report “includes a less-than-subtle threat to Madonsela”.

In court documents filed on Friday, Zuma fires a warning shot that makes his intentions clear.

“Should it now transpire that she finalised and signed the report, her conduct may well amount to constructive contempt. In this regard, I reserve my rights.”

Zuma’s next move, should the court confirm that the report be released, will be to launch an appeal.

This would delay the release of the much-anticipated report yet again.

This is why you set up triggers to publish that mofo the millisecond the judge's hammer falls, so you can legally say there was no appeal and the court gave it's blessing. Any appeal afterwards will not matter anymore.

Alas, such a move requires a PP that is NOT in Zupta's pocket ...

Chapter 9.4 of the Constitution: No person or organ of state may interfere with the functioning of these institutions.

What Zuma and the week-end special did, is it not tantamount to interference?

What you mean Zuma is ignoring the constitution again...?

In today's Q&A

Zuma, say no one can instruct the president to establish a commission of enquiry and say which way the process must go.

Except of course, recent court rulings say otherwise Jacob, so GFY.

the Zuma butthurt is strong, see you in the CC again soon El Presidente, bring lube.

Zuma: State capture process was 'unfair'
Zuma, who has denied any wrongdoing, also told Members of Parliament (MPs) that the Public Protector could not prescribe to him over setting up any judicial commission of inquiry into the report.

The president says the usual procedure of giving those implicated an opportunity to first respond to a preliminary report wasn’t followed.

“This report has been dealt with in a very funny way. Very funny, in my view. It affected me, and many. No fairness at all.”

Zuma: State capture process was 'unfair' - yes, the state capture was very unfair to law abiding citizens.

What I'm thinking.. he is playing for time. Problem is, if there was an inkling of a chance of no downgrade... it's gone now.

CC already categorically stated the PP's findings are binding.
What he is now saying is no, again.

Now in order to challenge that I am pretty sure no lower court would suffice, so straight back to the CC, if he refuses to do what the PP resolved he should do.

Nkandla vII, just a much shorter version thereof with the same slap at the end.
No matter how 'funny' he thinks it is, he will have to prove there that the PP miss-stepped in some way.

Thuli vs JZ looks like a 1 sided fight to me.
