Lol..I think more than 18 months Lindiwe...
The fallout will be spectacular, and the general populace will be paying the price.
Rama stepping down or being removed will create even more instability within the ANC, an ANC at war with itself. A fractured governing party creates a lack of confidence in any country from an external international perspective. Then of course we have a history of our presidents not serving full terms.
International investment in this country will shrink further given increased political instability coupled with a corruption infested political leadership.
The squirrel should finish serving his term and then head towards the exit signs.
Lindiwe tries to play things down with 18 months, its more likely to be 5 years, and during those 5 yrs we'll sink further before there is any recovery

So far only Mandela fully served his first term. Everyone else didn't finish their second term.

I'm going to exclude Motlanthe since he was only a caretaker for around a year.

Rama wont step aside its like Paul said its tantamount to admitting. But if you part of the ANC tribe you can't just suddenly separate yourself from their shenanigans the day you president. Thats just silly, he knew what he was part and parcel of. He used his influence in the ANC to silently enrich himself while he was moving up the ranks, if he wasn't too greedy he could retire and travel the world with his billions. Whether we like it or not this is what it has come to, the most business minded ANC leader is soon to be replaced by a "leader" who must fill his gaps he had with the ANC tribe NOT the people of SA as usual. The expectations for the new ANC leader is probably very low. Whoever is closest to the mic will do. They'll choose the corrupt idiot with Dr. before his name.

Clearly the ANC are divided! Or rather, a certain group wants CR gone.

But saying it, did he broke rules. Yes, without a doubt!

Reading now that he staying on determine’s the “health” of the ANC going forward.

Its sad timing. Wish the report was made available Dec 2023... then the ANC was in trouble going into elections

LOL. No. The report doesn't matter with the real voters (the rural folk). All that matters to them is that the party that "liberated" them must stay in power else the dreaded apartheid would somehow magically return.

Just think about all the issues with JZ. Come on, its not that there were no ranging fires. What happened? F-all.
The voters kept voting for them. The party dictates who the president will be. But the poor will keep voting for the party.

ANC "unity" before country. Always.

I just can't forget that CR was the deputy to JZ. Did he stand up for what is right then? No! He is no different to any other ANC politician. Corrupt to the core.

Although it can be argued that he is more savvy at hiding his corruptness than other "leaders". But they are ALL cut from the same cloth. Firstly enriching themselves, secondly looking after those friends that help them, lastly looking after their party, and only then trying to do something which makes it looks like they are trying to benefit ordinary South Africans, but you in the background you can be sure that it is actually meant to benefit the first three things I mentioned.
