Will Roman Polanski ever be extradited?

Defending Polanski is a little sick, I'd rather see his quilt discussed in court... but hey the 13yr old is not innocent either....

Oh get over yourself. Polanski did not rape a child, the 13 yr old did not even look like a child and besides I doubt it even happened. If the guy was a child rapist he would be like Glitter raping babies from Vietnam to Europe etc.

It's bollocks. I defend the man because he's a good man, I don't know this girl or her parents and I don't just assume stuff. If he was a child predator Continental Europe would not allow him near their kids.

And cut the BS about Japanese girls - they don't look like kids, so cut the racism, and they're better than your girlfriend.

I'm Korean, we have many similarities, it's not like I havn't heard this before, apart from being Asian, we are close to each other. And saying our people look young, and therefore Peter is a paedo, yes, I am offended.

Maybe I should have rephrased myself better but anyway I don't have a problem with Asians, I enjoy Asian culture.

Funny that I'm the racist when some of these forumites say nuking Japan was a good thing.

There's a difference between linking stereotypical connotations of a race with paedophilia and supporting a a decision, that in which the bombings of two cities prevented even more deaths by prolonged war.

How could the charge be trumped up, he pleaded guilty and fled before sentencing. For a 45 year old man to have drugged and had sex with a 13 year old child is sick and he deserves to be in jail, even 30 years later. Whether he raped her or it was consensual or even if she seduced him he deserves to be in jail, he was an adult and she was a child.

Yes the charge could be trumped up. With celebrities involved sometimes people come up with novel ways to get cash or do someone in. The girl was probably used as a pawn or it didn't happen at all, after all these years she may even genuinely believe it has happened too.

He plea bargained - in other words he was told by the DA: "We have a strong case. We'll send you away to St Quentin and you'll be butt-raped by Bubba and Co for 20 years. Or you can plead guilty and we'll give you a slap on the wrist. Save yourself the trouble."

Obviously people are emotional and will like you, go with the testimony of a girl who was seduced, drugged and raped by this guy who since has not been convicted in Europe of anything related to this. I guess he switched off his libido for 30 years. Right?

The case wasn't clear cut.

And even if he really had sex with this girl where was her mother and why did she let this happen - and yes it's possible for a drunk guy to mistake a girl who looks 18 but is 13 for a legal girl.

It's also been 30 years and the way he was caught by the Swiss is fishy and unkosher. Thugs frequently escape to the US from Europe and they don't get extradited - I believe Europe should not let him go till the US rescinds these crazy charges or he should be tried in Europe.

Anyway google it, lots of people believe in this guy and ask yourself why they do? People hate and call Gary Glitter bad names and people still refer to MJ as a pedo even though he bribed the parents of that one kid not to press charges, why should a far better man be treated like a criminal. I disagree.

Put yourself in his shoes. If you were at a party and some girl who should not have been there said you raped her, and everyone called you a f-ng child molester, do you think you'd get a fair hearing? Judging by most responses here - I seriously doubt it, and it goes against all psychology because the guy was successfully married to numerous beautiful women and pedo's don't do that, or if they do its a facade and they rape relatives and other kids. Secondly the girl does not look like a kid (and we have testimony on that) and so he did wrong not to verify her age but he's no child molester or animal. Cases like these - if this is genuine - are very common. At the end it's her word against his. And people won't defend someone accused of this because he must obviously be guilty.

If you know my record on this forum I usually back the girl in such cases but in this case the whole thing is very fishy. Anyway a real pedo child rapist wouldn't have two governments standing in on his behalf which goes to show what people in Europe think of those charges or do you think Sarkozy would defend a child molester in public?
