Will this GPU work with this PSU

Actaully... ****it.

Should I just go for the 850 Watt XFX ProSeries Modular 80+ Bronze. P1-850X-XXB9

That should do it right? And have all the connections I possible would need?

I always tell people not to skimp on a PSU. Most important component in your PC IMO. What will it cost you at the end of the day if that PSU damages that nice GPU

XFX's stuff is all Seasonic. I think you'll be hard-pressed to find a problem with it at all. Go for it.

Ordered.

Way more than what I was planning to spend but whatever... I like bread and water mixes well with Oros.

I still get the last laugh either way :p catch 22 :D

Dammit.
Yes you do...

Wait... what do i get here? A nice PSU in a case with no window which I will thus never see... but know that my stuff will run well for the foreseeable future... which in pc terms is 6 months.

nope 3 weeks....;) However you next thread will be will my old XFX handle XYZ :P Also worth noting as far as I am aware can't remember it's either 2 year or 3 year warranty :p Coolermaster is notorious for pushing entry mid range PSU's with only a year......

3 weeks... Lovely.

Out of interest. The psu's fan is a intake fan right? So it's fine if I place it at the bottom of my case with the fan on top?

Generally all bottom fans on PSU's is intake fans, some have an additional fan on the exhaust, my PSU is mounted in the bottom of my case, and as a result runs considerably cooler than a top mounted PSU.

If your case has a intake grate in the bottom of the case it should be facing it not the other way around, you want to pull cooler air from outside the case, than hot air from inside, top mount fans should be used to pull air out of the case, side/front and back generally for intake.Remember hot air rises ;)

So bottom of the case with fan on outside/bottom side it is.

Thanks for the advice dude!

Mostly stability, but also cleaner power to your components. Manufacturers like Seasonic, Delta and CWT make power supplies for the high-end market that have extremely low ripple, very tight regulation and higher efficiency so that you don't waste more power out as heat. You also get longer life spans from the better hardware selection and more protection from power surges and brownouts.

It's been said before in this and many other threads - so many people skimp on the PSU and often don't spend the extra money for better quality and component selection,

No problem, was happy to help burn off some excess cash you had "lying" around.I assume I can now send my bill, that R9 290 should be just enough to cover services rendered....:p

Ironically I my self have to start hunting for a new screen next week, and have to check out all the jargon and get some thing nice :D Hoping to get a decent 24 inch HD LED with a budget of 6k.

The one Item doesn't belong there it's CWT, CWT only managed to muster up a tier 2 PSU and mostly end up in tier 3 and 4...They not the best, not the worst, in fact the andyson I have is leaps and bounds better than any thing CWT can come up with.

CWT often use 2second tier Caps, have out dated topologies it is only recent like late last year that they managed to make the second platinum efficiency PSU, they are using predominantly double forward topology, how they managed to get plat out of the aging double forward topology is a surprise, I have mostly seen gold coming out of this topology.

So no CWT isn't even remotely highend.....because ironically you find these CWT's units in the entry gigabytes and the coolermasters...to even be considered for that heavy group, requires fantastic units from entry to high end.

Secondly you can't judge the quality of a PSU by efficiency, efficiency and quality do not go hand in hand, I can show you the most craptastic PSU's with stellar efficiency numbers...
